Law enforcement descended on a Walt Disney World Resort hotel early Sunday morning after receiving word that an endangered person had gone missing from the property.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office logged the report at 6:06 a.m. on August 23, naming Disney’s Old Key West Resort as the location tied to the missing person. Details of the call reached the public through @WDWActiveCrime, an account that tracks law enforcement scanner traffic around Walt Disney World Resort, which posted on X (formerly known as Twitter):

🚨 Police Alert 🚓 – 8/23/26 6:06 AM
🚨: Missing Endangered Person at 📍: Disney’s Old Key West Resort

Attached to the post was a Google Maps image showing a precise location within the Disney Resort hotel. That pin, however, shouldn’t necessarily be taken as the exact site tied to the disappearance, as scanner reports across Disney property are commonly tagged to general addresses that cover entire theme parks, resorts, or Disney Springs rather than the specific spot where a response is actually occurring.

Little Information Available So Far

Beyond the initial scanner alert, neither the Orange County Sheriff’s Office nor Walt Disney World Resort has commented further on the case. Should the missing individual already be found, it would be typical for authorities to keep specifics under wraps to protect their privacy. Additional details would most likely emerge only if the situation escalates to a formal police report or criminal charges.

Vacations Continue as Normal

For now, there’s no indication that the search has disrupted operations anywhere at the Walt Disney World Resort, including Disney’s Old Key West Resort. Guests currently on Disney property can proceed with their vacation plans without concern, though it’s worth staying alert to any directions from security cast members or law enforcement if a response happens to cross paths with your visit.
