Disney Just Changed the Way Theme Park Guests Pay for Food and Merchandise
Paying for a Mickey-shaped pretzel or a souvenir at Disneyland Paris Resort is about to become a way more immersive experience. The themed payment terminals now rolling out across the European vacation destination are a first for any Disney park worldwide.
A First-of-Its-Kind Collaboration

WDWNT reported on August 11 that Disneyland Paris Resort had installed custom-themed payment terminals at shops and restaurants across Disneyland Park and Disney Adventure World, formerly known as Walt Disney Studios Park. The terminals were developed through a collaboration between Disneyland Paris Resort and Visa, an official resort partner, and represent the first time any Disney park has deployed location-specific, custom-designed payment processing hardware.
The project brought together Walt Disney Imagineering, Maintenance, Information Technology, Central Workshops, and Corporate Alliances & Partnerships to create ten distinct designs, each inspired by the specific land or world where the terminal is installed. The casings were crafted from resin and aluminum, with both the physical design and the digital screen display customized to match the surrounding environment.
What Each Terminal Looks Like

The attention to detail across the ten designs is striking. In Worlds of Pixar at Disney Adventure World, the iconic Luxo ball appears on both the terminal casings and the screens. Avengers Campus features silver, superhero-inspired casings with the Avengers logo on the display. In Fantasyland at Disneyland Park, the terminals are sculpted in the shape of a crown.
The theming extends to the Visa signage at each register as well. In World of Frozen, the crocus flower identifies the location. In Adventureland, both the plaques and the screens feature a treasure chest. At La Place de Rémy, a rat nibbles cheese on the terminal design.
The Rollout Timeline

More than 500 payment terminals across shopping and dining locations at Disneyland Park and Disney Adventure World are being updated with the themed casings and screens. The rollout is expected to be complete by the end of August 2026.
Disneyland Paris Resort is the first Disney park globally to implement this kind of Visa partnership. Whether Disneyland Resort or Walt Disney World Resort has similar plans in development hasn’t been confirmed.
