Disneyland Park Confirms Major Cut to Guests’ Daily Entertainment, Starting September 6
Disney’s entertainment calendar is about to look noticeably quieter at one resort
Daytime parades remain one of the most recognizable parts of a Disney vacation, drawing guests to sidewalks and central viewing areas long before the first float appears. The productions combine characters, dancers, elaborate costumes, original music, and large-scale set pieces into a moving theme park show.
Several resorts currently feature their own signature versions. Magic Kingdom presents the Festival of Fantasy Parade, while Disneyland Resort revived Paint the Night last year. Tokyo Disneyland continues to stage Harmony in Color, a production created for the park’s 40th anniversary celebrations.
Yet one Disneyland Park will soon lose a major daytime offering, leaving guests without the production that has occupied its central hub since 2024.
A Disneyland Parade Will End in September
A Million Splashes of Colour will perform for the final time during its current run on September 6 at Disneyland Park, the original theme park at Disneyland Paris.
The September departure is not entirely unusual. The production has previously paused around the same point in the year as Disneyland Paris prepares its Halloween and Christmas entertainment, which typically replaces several seasonal shows and character experiences.
This time, however, some Disneyland Paris fans suspect the parade may not return at all.
The resort will celebrate its 35th anniversary in 2027, prompting speculation that Disney will introduce a replacement parade or anniversary production. Such an addition could make another revival of A Million Splashes of Colour increasingly unlikely.

Disneyland Paris has not officially confirmed that the September performance will be the parade’s permanent finale. It has also not announced a replacement daytime parade for the period immediately following its departure.
That means guests visiting later in September could find the entertainment schedule without A Million Splashes of Colour, depending on which seasonal offerings are operating during their trip.
A Million Splashes of Colour debuted in February 2024 as part of Disney Symphony of Colours, a collection of entertainment additions launched at Disneyland Paris.
The 30-minute production brought approximately 30 Disney characters and performers to Central Plaza. Rather than following the format of a traditional procession filled with numerous large floats, much of the show unfolded around the park’s central hub.
Its cast featured characters from several Disney and Pixar films, accompanied by dancers, colorful costumes, and a soundtrack blending original music with familiar songs.
The production returned for a second run in early 2026, but its comeback followed a mixed initial reception.
Some frequent visitors criticized the parade’s limited number of floats and argued that its soundtrack lacked the impact of other Disneyland Paris productions. Disney subsequently made several adjustments when the show returned, addressing some of the complaints raised during its original run.
Despite those changes, A Million Splashes of Colour has generally remained less popular among fans than Disney Stars on Parade, the resort’s more traditional daytime procession.
Disney Tests a Possible New Format
Although its current parade run is ending, elements of A Million Splashes of Colour may survive elsewhere inside Disneyland Park.
Disneyland Paris recently tested an adapted stage-show version inside the Videopolis theater in Discoveryland. The indoor production offered Disney another way to present the show’s characters, music, and choreography without sending performers along the outdoor parade route.

The test followed unusually hot conditions at Disneyland Paris. During the heatwave, costumed characters were temporarily removed from outdoor parades until temperatures fell, reducing the physical strain placed on performers wearing heavy costumes.
Moving the production indoors provided a climate-controlled alternative while allowing guests to see at least part of the scheduled entertainment.
Fans have since praised the Videopolis experiment as a practical option for future periods of extreme heat. An indoor version could also help Disneyland Paris retain parts of the production after the full parade leaves the schedule.
Disney has not said whether the theater adaptation will continue beyond the heat-related performances or become a permanent Disneyland Paris offering.
