Disney Sets Final Guest Arrival Date Ahead of Complete Hotel Closure
Hundreds of Disney hotel rooms are about to disappear from the booking calendar.
Disney generally completes hotel renovations in stages, closing individual floors, wings, or facilities while the rest of the property remains open. A complete shutdown is less common because it removes accommodations, restaurants, and guest services at the same time.
Previous closures have usually accompanied major transformations. Disneyland Paris closed both Disneyland Hotel and Disney Hotel New York for extensive renovations, while Walt Disney World permanently shut Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser in September 2023.
The latest closure is temporary, but guests now have a firm deadline for arriving.
Final Guests Will Arrive October 10
Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel will accept its final guest arrivals on October 10 before closing the entire property.
The hotel will officially shut on October 12, giving guests checking in on the final arrival date time to complete their stays. No further reservations will be accepted once the closure begins.

Disney has not announced when the hotel will reopen.
The shutdown will remove 400 rooms from Hong Kong Disneyland Resort, along with the hotel’s restaurants, bars, recreation facilities, and public spaces.
Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel is the resort’s flagship property. It opened in 2005 alongside Hong Kong Disneyland and occupies a waterfront location overlooking the South China Sea.
Its Victorian architecture closely resembles Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa at Walt Disney World. Both hotels feature formal interiors, landscaped grounds, large lobbies, signature restaurants, and a more upscale atmosphere than their neighboring Disney resorts.
The Hong Kong property also includes indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a Mickey-shaped garden maze, recreation areas, character dining, and several table-service restaurants.
Renovation work is already underway on the western side of the building.
The current project began in June 2026 and runs between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. each day. Disney has warned that guests may experience noise or odors while the work is taking place.
Until October 12, the hotel’s main facilities and services will remain operational. Disney has also said guest room views will not be affected by the existing construction.
The company has not confirmed any major changes to the hotel’s rooms, theme, lobby, restaurants, or exterior.
Dining Experiences Will Close With the Hotel
Guests will also lose access to every restaurant and bar inside Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel.
Enchanted Garden Restaurant will temporarily stop hosting Disney character meals. The buffet is one of the resort’s main character dining locations and regularly features appearances from Mickey Mouse and other Disney characters.
Crystal Lotus will also close. The restaurant serves regional Chinese cuisine and is particularly known for its Disney-themed dim sum, including dishes shaped like popular characters.
Walt’s Cafe, which offers international dishes in a setting inspired by Walt Disney, will be unavailable throughout the closure.
The Grand Salon and the seasonal Sea Breeze Bar will also shut. Disney has not announced whether any of these dining experiences will be relocated to another hotel.
Visitors will still have two Disney-operated accommodation options during the closure.
Disney Explorers Lodge is themed around travel and exploration, with areas inspired by Asia, Oceania, South America, and Africa. The hotel includes themed gardens, restaurants, and rooms designed around different destinations.
Disney’s Hollywood Hotel offers a more playful take on classic Hollywood. Its design combines Art Deco influences with Disney characters, family-focused recreation, and several dining options.
Guests can also eat inside Hong Kong Disneyland Park or visit restaurants at either of the two remaining hotels.
Full Disney hotel closures have previously lasted several years when extensive renovations were involved.
Disneyland Hotel at Disneyland Paris closed in 2020 and reopened in 2024 after receiving new rooms, restaurants, and interiors built around Disney Princesses and royal stories. It has since introduced restrictions on who can enter the hotel.
Disney Hotel New York closed before returning in 2021 as Disney Hotel New York — The Art of Marvel. Its transformation introduced Marvel artwork, superhero-themed rooms, and redesigned public spaces.
Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser followed a different path. The immersive Walt Disney World hotel closed permanently in September 2023, only 18 months after welcoming its first guests.
