The Walt Disney Company is opening its vault of theme park relics to the public. For the right price, a piece of Disney history could be heading home with you.
A First-of-Its-Kind Auction at D23

As part of the programming announcement for D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event — running August 14 through 16, 2026, at the Anaheim Convention Center and Honda Center — The Walt Disney Company confirmed that August 16 will close out the expo with the Disney Experiences Auction, a dedicated bidding event featuring verified artifacts and relics sourced directly from Disney parks and resorts.
Michael Vargo, head of D23, said:
“The Disney Experiences Auction is making its way to D23 this year. This is actually a place where you can go and bid on some finds from Disney Parks and Resorts, and you can take home a bit of the magic with you.”
The auction will be hosted by Bret Iwan — Disney Fine Artist and the current voice of Mickey Mouse — lending the event a fitting dose of Disney pedigree. Promotional images released alongside the announcement tease items connected to Walt Disney World Resort’s 50th anniversary, the Haunted Mansion, Tomorrowland, and the Muppets archives, though a complete catalog of what will be available for bidding hasn’t been released.
Who Can Participate

The Walt Disney Company hasn’t confirmed how bidding will work for fans who won’t be in Anaheim for D23. Remote bidding will reportedly be available alongside in-person bidding on the convention floor, with more logistical details expected to surface as August approaches.
The Disney Experiences Auction is one of many entries in a packed D23 programming slate that also includes the Disney Rewind Concert and A Whole New World of Alan Menken, among other exclusive events.
