This Orlando Theme Park Event Just Got a Major Summer Upgrade

If you’ve been eyeing Volcano Bay Nights this summer, good news. Universal Orlando Resort just added more dates to the lineup, giving guests even more chances to catch this nighttime beach party before the season wraps up.

For anyone who hasn’t done it yet, Volcano Bay Nights is a separately ticketed after-hours event held at Universal’s water park, Volcano Bay. It runs from 7 to 11 p.m. on select nights, and the whole vibe is different from a regular day at the park. Less heat, smaller crowds, and a full beach party atmosphere once the sun goes down.

What’s New This Summer

When this event first got announced back in March, the dates ran from May through August. Now that summer’s actually here, Universal tacked on a bunch of extra nights, so the lineup stretches all the way through August 21.

If you’re trying to plan around it, your best bet is checking the Universal Orlando website directly, since dates can fill up fast once people start locking in plans.

What You Actually Get

Tickets are $99 per person plus tax, the same price as last year. That gets you into the park during event hours with shorter wait times on rides like the Krakatau Aqua Coaster and Ko’okiri Body Plunge, plus access to a Beach Bash at Waturi Beach, complete with a live DJ and games.

DreamWorks characters from Shrek and Madagascar show up for meet and greets, too, which is a nice touch if you’ve got kids along. The event is open to guests 3 and up.

You’ll also get a free Coca-Cola Freestyle souvenir cup for refills all night, plus some themed island treats included with your ticket. If you want more food, there’s additional themed stuff available to buy too.

For anyone 21 and older, there are themed alcoholic drinks for purchase as well, just bring a valid photo I.D.

If you’re an Annual or Preferred Passholder, you get 10 percent off tickets. Premier Passholders get 15 percent off, plus extra discounts on food, non-alcoholic drinks, and merchandise during the event.

Why People Keep Coming Back

Volcano Bay has had a pretty loyal fanbase since it opened back in 2017. A big part of that is the TapuTapu wearable, which lets you reserve ride times instead of standing in line the whole day. Rides like the Krakatau Aqua Coaster and TeAwa the Fearless River are already favorites during the day, but at night, with the volcano lit up and way fewer people around, the whole park just feels different. More relaxed, honestly.

Planning Summer Around It

With more dates added and tickets already on sale, this is shaping up to be a popular one this summer. If you’ve got a specific night in mind, especially a weekend, it’s smart to grab tickets early since limited-capacity events like this tend to sell out before you’d expect.

Whether you’re going for the shorter lines, the character meet and greets, or just want to experience Volcano Bay after dark for the first time, this expanded schedule gives you a lot more chances to make it happen before August ends.
