Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort Issues Notice Affecting Hotel Guests Through 2027
Guests with upcoming stays at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort should know that two simultaneous construction projects are now underway at the Value Walt Disney World Resort hotel. One of them won’t wrap up until well into next year.
Gift Shop Goes Under Construction
The more immediate of the two projects began on May 27 inside Donald’s Double Feature, the merchandise location in the main lobby at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort. Walt Disney World Resort’s official website confirms the gift shop will remain open throughout the refurbishment, though guests are warned they may “see and hear construction in the area.”
What that means practically is that merchandise availability is likely to be reduced at various points during the project. When Walt Disney World Resort refurbished the gift shop at Disney’s Pop Century Resort — a comparable Value Resort with a similar layout and merchandise selection — the work was carried out in phases, with only half the store operational at times and a noticeably smaller souvenir selection than usual. Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort guests should expect a similar experience as the Donald’s Double Feature renovation progresses.
The gift shop shares its building with the hotel’s check-in desk and the World Premiere Food Court, both of which are expected to operate normally throughout construction. Walt Disney World Resort has confirmed the gift shop refurbishment will be complete by late August 2026, though no exact end date has been announced, and no details about the finished space have been shared.
Guest Rooms Being Renovated in Phases
Running alongside the gift shop project is a longer-term renovation of guest rooms throughout Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort. That work is being carried out in phases to allow the hotel to honor existing reservations — meaning guests won’t be turned away — but the construction timeline extends through January 2027.
Walt Disney World Resort typically schedules room renovation work during daytime hours, when most hotel guests are spending time at the theme parks or Disney Springs. Guests who remain on property during the day — using the pool or other resort amenities — may encounter noise or visible construction activity in parts of the resort.
