Disney fans have seen plenty of attraction breakdowns over the years, but a new viral TikTok from EPCOT has people doing a double take for a completely different reason. Instead of just another stalled ride vehicle or temporary evacuation, this clip appears to show a Test Track vehicle sitting without part of its hood attached.
The video, posted by TikTok user “nickbusters,” quickly spread across Disney social media circles after showing guests stopped on the attraction while the front section of the car appeared partially missing. The caption dramatically claimed the “hood flew off,” instantly grabbing attention from Disney Parks fans.

Even though the footage does not actually show the hood detaching mid-ride, the visual alone was enough to get people talking.
Test Track has always been one of EPCOT’s biggest thrill attractions. The ride combines high-speed launches, sharp turns, environmental testing scenes, and an outdoor finale that reaches speeds near 65 miles per hour. Because of how intense the attraction can be, Disney’s maintenance teams constantly inspect the ride vehicles and track systems behind the scenes.
Still, guests are not used to seeing a Test Track vehicle looking incomplete during normal operation.
That is part of why this TikTok gained traction so quickly online. Disney fans love getting a glimpse behind the scenes, especially when something disrupts the polished illusion Disney usually works so hard to maintain.
The reactions online were mixed almost immediately.
Some fans joked that Test Track breaking down is practically part of the experience these days. Others debated whether Disney attractions have become more unreliable recently as the parks continue operating older rides alongside newer technology-heavy attractions.
Test Track has always been somewhat prone to temporary closures compared to other EPCOT rides. The attraction depends on complex ride systems, advanced sensors, automated steering technology, and outdoor track sections that can all create operational headaches.
Florida weather can also complicate things. Since part of the attraction takes place outside, nearby storms and lightning can temporarily pause operations even if the weather still seems fine elsewhere in the park.
But seeing what looked like a missing hood section created a very different kind of viral moment.
Disney has not publicly commented on the situation, and there has been no indication guests were in danger at any point during the incident shown in the TikTok. The vehicle appeared safely stopped while Cast Members likely addressed the issue backstage.
Even so, the video arrives during a major transition period for Test Track itself.
Disney has recently reimagined the attraction again, with the updated version expected to take inspiration from the original World of Motion attraction that occupied the pavilion before Test Track opened in 1999. Disney has teased a more optimistic and immersive experience focused on transportation innovation and the future of mobility.
That means fans are already paying close attention to every development involving the attraction.
Social media has also changed the way these moments spread online. Years ago, a weird breakdown at Disney World may have only become a story among the guests who witnessed it in person. Now, one quick TikTok can instantly reach thousands of Disney fans around the world.
