Disney World Quietly Restores HUGE Perk for Select Value Resort Guests
Disney World has always leaned on convenience as one of its biggest selling points, especially for guests who choose to stay onsite. That idea is getting even stronger now with the return of a service that makes a noticeable difference without changing anything about your park day.
It’s the kind of perk that doesn’t get much attention upfront, but once you know it’s there, it’s hard to ignore. For the right guests, it can make the overall experience feel much more seamless from start to finish.
The Core Perks That Come With Staying Onsite
Staying at a Disney resort comes with built-in advantages that go beyond just location.
Transportation is one of the biggest. Guests can rely on buses, boats, the Skyliner, and the monorail system to move around Walt Disney World without worrying about driving or parking. It keeps everything simple and predictable.
Early Entry gives resort guests access to the parks before the general public each morning, helping reduce wait times.
Planning is also easier. Guests staying onsite can secure Lightning Lane selections earlier than off-property visitors, giving them better access to top attractions. Dining reservations follow a similar pattern, offering more flexibility when mapping out your trip.
Together, these perks create a smoother experience overall. And depending on where you stay, there’s even more to take advantage of.

Extra Benefits Reserved for Select Resort Guests
Some perks are reserved for guests staying at specific resorts.
Those booked at Deluxe Resorts and Deluxe Villas can enjoy Extended Evening Hours on select nights, allowing them to stay in certain parks after closing. With fewer crowds and shorter waits, it’s a completely different kind of experience.
While not every guest has access to that perk, Disney has brought back something that benefits a broader group of travelers.
Disney Reinstates Major Traveling Perk
Disney’s Airport Luggage Transfer service is back for the 2026 travel season, and it’s designed to make one part of your trip much easier to manage.
Guests can drop off their checked bags at their resort, and Disney will handle getting them to the airport and into the airline’s system.
There’s no separate Disney service fee tied to this. Guests still need to pay any airline baggage fees, but Disney manages the transfer itself at no additional cost.
The service currently works with Southwest Airlines and flights through Orlando International Airport (MCO).
It’s available at several Value Resorts, including Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort, Disney’s All-Star Music Resort, Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort, Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, and Disney’s Pop Century Resort.

How the Luggage Transfer Process Works
Getting started is simple.
After checking into your resort, you can contact Luggage Assistance or stop by in person to set up your luggage. Leaving your Southwest bag tags attached can help move things along faster.
On your travel day, you’ll check in for your flight as usual. Instead of bringing your luggage with you, you’ll drop it off at the resort.
From there, Disney handles getting it to the airport and into the airline system.
You’ll want to drop your bags off at least four hours before your departure time. Luggage Assistance can receive bags throughout the day, giving guests flexibility when planning their trip.
You’ll need a valid ID when dropping off your bags, and once they’re handed over, you can track them using your airline confirmation.
Another important detail is that the service works for both arrival and departure, making the experience easier for guests on both ends of their trip.

What This Means for Value Resort Guests
This perk stands out most for guests staying at Value Resorts.
These hotels are known for affordability, but they haven’t always matched the convenience of higher-tier options. This service helps close that gap in a meaningful way.
Without needing to manage luggage during travel, everything becomes easier. You can focus on your schedule instead of your bags.
That added convenience can make staying onsite feel like a stronger overall value, especially for guests trying to keep costs down without giving up too much comfort.

A Small Change That Makes a Big Difference
This isn’t the kind of update that dominates headlines, but it improves the overall experience in a real way.
Airport Luggage Transfer simplifies travel logistics and removes one of the more frustrating parts of any trip. When you combine it with transportation, Early Entry, and planning advantages, the benefits of staying onsite become even clearer.
It’s a simple idea, but one that makes the entire trip feel easier from start to finish.
