Disney World Quietly Confirms Overhaul of Traditional DOLE Whip Spot
Walt Disney World Resort didn’t make an announcement. There was no fanfare, no social media post. Just a construction permit filed on a Wednesday afternoon to forever change the original DOLE Whip stand in Adventureland at Magic Kingdom Park.
The Filing

On April 15, Walt Disney Imagineering submitted a Notice of Commencement to the Orange County Comptroller for work at 4861 Caribbean Way, the home of Aloha Isle in Adventureland at Magic Kingdom Park. The listed plan is “Install Signage,” with third-party contractor Kentavo named as the company responsible for the work. Kentavo has recent history at Walt Disney World Resort, with similar signage permits tied to work at “it’s a small world” and the Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure theater at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
The filing came from Walt Disney Imagineering, not Disney’s Facility Asset Management team, which typically oversees routine maintenance. When Imagineering puts its name on a permit, the implication is usually that the resulting changes are guest-facing in some intentional way. Still, the signage description leaves open the possibility that this amounts to a branding update rather than a full reimagining of the space.
What’s Not Changing — Yet

As of now, Aloha Isle remains open with no announced closure or menu modifications. Guests visiting Adventureland in the near term should still be able to order the DOLE Whip pineapple, vanilla, or swirl soft serve ($5.99), the DOLE Whip Pineapple Juice Float ($7.29), the Tropical Serenade Float ($8.29), and Pineapple Upside-Down Cake with soft serve ($7.49). Mobile Ordering is available through the My Disney Experience app for anyone looking to avoid construction delays in the area.
Aloha Isle holds a particular place in Walt Disney World Resort history as the original home of the DOLE Whip on property. This distinction remains even as the pineapple soft serve has spread to locations across the Central Florida vacation destination.

Interesting to see Disney making changes to the DOLE Whip spot. Any idea what the new setup will look like?
