Brand-New Disney Theme Park Now Open, Welcomes First Guests on March 29
Disney Adventure World officially admitted its first guests Sunday morning, becoming Disney’s newest theme park in nearly a decade and replacing the troubled Walt Disney Studios Park at Disneyland Paris Resort.
The transformation follows the permanent closure of Walt Disney Studios Park on March 28, ending 24 years of operation for a property widely criticized as Disney’s weakest theme park.
Walt Disney Studios Park’s 24-Year Struggle

In 2002, Walt Disney Studios Park launched to immediate controversy as a budget version of Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The European park earned the troubled “half-day park” title from guests disappointed by limited attractions and uninspiring backlot theming.
Disneyland Paris Resort announced plans to transform Walt Disney Studios Park into Disney Adventure World in April 2025, mirroring Walt Disney World Resort’s strategy of replacing a movie-making-themed park (Disney’s Hollywood Studios) with one inspired by existing film franchises.

Returning and New Experiences

Retained attractions from Walt Disney Studios Park include Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, Marvel Avengers Campus, and Worlds of Pixar (including the Toy Story Playland).
World Premiere Plaza—the park’s entrance area—features shops, restaurants, and a theater.
Adventure Way includes the new Raiponce Tangled Spin attraction based on Tangled (2010), which includes voiceovers from Mandy Moore, the original voice of Rapunzel. The new Regal View Restaurant & Lounge offers character dining with Disney Princesses like Belle, Aurora, Jasmine, and Ariel.

The new Disney Cascade of Lights nighttime show—viewed best from Adventure Way—combines pyrotechnics, water effects, and aquatic drones with music and imagery from Mulan (1998), Hercules (1997), Zootopia (2016), Up (2009), and Moana (2016).
The headline expansion at Disney Adventure World is the World of Frozen. The brand-new park area includes the Frozen Ever After ride, the Nordic Crowns Tavern restaurant, a Royal Encounter with Anna and Elsa, and the “A Celebration in Arendelle” show, featuring the walk-around Olaf audio-animatronic.
More Attractions Coming Soon

Construction continues on an Up spinning carousel in Adventure Way and a Lion King (1994) land with a log flume ride. Disneyland Paris Resort has not announced opening dates for these upcoming experiences.
Planning documents hint at a potential Avatar (2009) land similar to Pandora – The World of Avatar at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. Disneyland Paris Resort hasn’t confirmed these plans, though Disney is developing an Avatar experience for Disney California Adventure Park at Disneyland Resort.
