Disney Confirms Overhaul of Magic Kingdom Parades, Beginning Next Month

Magic Kingdom Park is restructuring its entertainment lineup starting in early March, moving showtimes and doubling performances of parades and cavalcades as Walt Disney World Resort prepares for spring break crowds.

The changes roll out on March 8 and March 15, affecting all three parades at the Central Florida theme park.

Cavalcade Shifts to Evenings

Disney Adventure Friends Cavalcade abandons its morning slots for evening performances beginning March 15. The procession moves from 10:30 a.m. and 11:45 a.m., to 5:10 p.m. and 6:25 p.m.

The cavalcade starts in Frontierland, travels through Liberty Square, and continues down Main Street, U.S.A. to Town Square.

Festival of Fantasy Doubles Up

Starting March 15, the Festival of Fantasy Parade adds a second daily performance at 12:00 p.m. while keeping its existing 3:00 p.m. showtime. The parade currently runs once per day.

In bad weather, Walt Disney World Resort substitutes the Rainy Day Cavalcade. Both use the same Frontierland-to-Town Square route as Disney Adventure Friends Cavalcade.

Nighttime Parade Delayed

Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away is moving back 30 minutes, from 7:45 p.m. to 8:15 p.m., starting March 8. The adjustment accounts for later sunsets and the Disney Adventure Friends Cavalcade’s move to evening slots.

From March 12-14, Walt Disney World Resort is adding a 10:30 p.m. second performance to accommodate peak spring break attendance.

Disney Starlight travels in the opposite direction of other parades, beginning at Town Square, moving up Main Street, U.S.A., past Cinderella Castle, continuing through Liberty Square, and ending in Frontierland. When second performances occur, the later showing reverses direction from Frontierland to Town Square.

Changes Valid Through Early April

Updated showtimes are available on Walt Disney World Resort’s website and the My Disney Experience app. The calendar extends through April 4, guaranteeing the new schedule will continue for at least that long.

Current parade times remain through mid-March before the entertainment overhaul begins at Magic Kingdom Park. Guests visiting during the transition should verify exact showtimes in the My Disney Experience app for their specific dates.
