Epic Universe hasn’t even completed its first full year of operation, and it’s already scheduling refurbishments on some of its attractions. This time, it’s Yoshi’s Adventure that’s heading behind construction walls.

The family-friendly ride inside SUPER NINTENDO WORLD is set to temporarily close beginning February 24, 2026, with a reopening planned for February 27. While that’s only a three-day window, it’s still notable considering how recently the park opened in May 2025.

Yoshi’s Adventure plays a very specific role at Epic Universe. In a park filled with intense headliners and high-speed thrills, it provides something calmer and more approachable. Guests board colorful Yoshi ride vehicles and glide above the Mushroom Kingdom on a gentle track, searching for hidden eggs and taking in playful scenery. It’s not about adrenaline. It’s about atmosphere and accessibility.
That makes even a short closure stand out.

New parks often give the impression that everything should run flawlessly for years. But in reality, the first year of operation is often when theme parks learn the most about their attractions. Ride systems settle in. Florida weather takes its toll. Thousands of daily riders expose small technical adjustments that weren’t obvious during testing.
A short refurbishment like this usually signals preventative maintenance rather than major problems. Universal may be addressing routine system calibrations, repainting exterior elements affected by sun exposure, or fine-tuning ride vehicles after months of heavy use.
The timing also makes sense. Late February tends to be a strategic window for quick refurbishments before spring break crowds arrive. Closing an attraction for a few days now may prevent longer downtime during busier travel periods.

For guests visiting during that week, the impact will likely be minimal. SUPER NINTENDO WORLD still offers other attractions, interactive elements, and immersive environments. But for families who prioritize Yoshi’s Adventure as their go-to ride, the temporary closure could require a small adjustment to touring plans.
The bigger takeaway is this: Epic Universe is entering its next phase. The grand opening buzz has settled, and now the focus shifts to long-term operations. Brief, scheduled refurbishments are part of that process.
Three days offline isn’t dramatic. It’s maintenance.
And in the theme park world, maintenance is what keeps rides running for years to come.
