Family Kicked Out at Disney Park After Child Tries To Hug Mickey Mouse

A family was reportedly removed from a Disney park earlier this week after their child ran onto the stage during a live performance.

The incident took place during a theatrical production at a Disney resort, where guests are prohibited from entering stages or interfering with performances. According to reports, the show was briefly paused before security intervened.

Disney parks maintain strict rules around guest conduct, particularly during live entertainment. Guests who violate those rules can be removed from individual venues or, in some cases, asked to leave the park entirely.

Disney Parks Enforce Guest Conduct Rules

Disney’s parks operate under a code of conduct that applies across attractions, entertainment venues, and public areas. Guests are prohibited from behavior that disrupts operations or places performers and other visitors at risk.

Violations can result in removal from specific areas, ejection from the park, or trespassing orders that bar guests from returning to Disney property.

At Walt Disney World Resort, several guests have been removed in recent months following incidents involving disorderly conduct.

Earlier this month, a guest was removed from Disney Springs after a drunken outburst at The Polite Pig. The individual was reportedly trespassed from Walt Disney World property.

In December, two sisters were taken into custody following a violent altercation inside their room at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. Both were removed from the hotel and trespassed from the resort.

While many removals involve violence or intoxication, Disney also removes guests for interfering with live entertainment, including stage performances.

Family Escorted Out After Stage Interruption at Shanghai Disneyland

The latest incident occurred at Shanghai Disneyland during a performance of Mickey’s Storybook Adventure.

According to Sina, the show was in progress when a child estimated to be five or six years old ran onto the stage and attempted to hug Mickey Mouse.

The production — which follows Mickey and Goofy after discovering a magic book that transports them through different worlds — was paused as performers moved away from the child.

Olaf was seen retreating further onto the stage while cast members responded. Witnesses reported that the child appeared to climb the stage steps independently.

Onlookers also stated that the child’s parents laughed and recorded the incident on their phones rather than intervening.

The family was then escorted out of the theater and onto Mickey Avenue. Based on previous incidents at the park, they were presumably asked to leave Shanghai Disneyland, though no official statement has been released.

This was not the first stage disruption reported at the resort. In August 2025, a man entered the stage during the seasonal production The Adventure of Rhythm.

Video footage showed the man attempting to dance with Mei Mei from Turning Red before being escorted offstage. The performance was paused for several minutes.

Management reportedly ordered the man to leave Shanghai Disneyland that day and banned him from returning for two years.

Similar incidents have occurred at other Disney parks. In 2024, an intoxicated guest climbed onto the American Adventure Pavilion stage at EPCOT and danced until being removed by a cast member.

In 2023, two men were removed after invading a stage performance in EPCOT’s Germany Pavilion. The men reportedly grabbed microphones and shouted until security intervened.

More recently, a child and their mother climbed a barrier at Magic Kingdom’s Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe and touched the Sonny Eclipse animatronic.

Video footage showed the animatronic’s set stopping abruptly, likely triggered by built-in safety systems. The pair were ordered off the stage, though it remains unclear whether they were removed from the park.
