Disney Makes Exclusive Christmas Party Offering Free for All Magic Kingdom Guests
A magical holiday surprise might be coming to Walt Disney World Resort next month. Guests visiting the Magic Kingdom in early November are in for a treat: an exclusive parade usually reserved for ticketed partygoers appears to be making its way to everyone in the park, free of charge.
A Change to the Magic Kingdom Parade Schedule
Walt Disney World Resort quietly updated its official entertainment calendar last week, removing the Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade from Magic Kingdom Park’s schedule on November 8 and November 9, 2025. The 2:00 p.m. performances on both days have been canceled without explanation.

While Disney has not officially commented on the change, the sudden update coincides with the timing of ABC’s annual filming for The Wonderful World of Disney: Magical Holiday Celebration, a televised special that airs every Christmas Day. The production typically features Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade, an entertainment offering usually reserved for attendees of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party — a separate, after-hours event that requires a special ticket.
A Christmas Party Experience Without the Ticket
Historically, Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade has rolled down Main Street, U.S.A. at 11:00 a.m. and again at 2:00 p.m. on filming days, allowing daytime Magic Kingdom Park guests to enjoy the festive experience typically offered only at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.

This means that for at least two days in November, the exclusive Christmas offering could become available to everyone at no extra cost — a rare occurrence in Walt Disney World Resort’s carefully curated event lineup. Although the Central Florida Disney park’s official listings do not confirm the parade swap, previous years’ filming schedules strongly suggest that the holiday production will temporarily replace the Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade.
Holiday Filming Already Underway
The annual television special is well into production at other Walt Disney World Resort locations. Earlier this week, Disney cast members were invited to attend a holiday-themed performance by Mariah the Scientist at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. The area around the Tree of Life was transformed with garlands, lights, and holiday décor for the taping, while attendees sported Christmas sweaters and festive Disney apparel.

Each year, The Wonderful World of Disney: Magical Holiday Celebration captures segments from the Walt Disney World theme parks, combining musical performances with parade footage and celebrity appearances for its Christmas Day broadcast.
What This Means for Disney Park Guests

Walt Disney World Resort has not issued a formal statement about the changes, but the upcoming parade cancellations align perfectly with the typical holiday filming schedule. Guests visiting Magic Kingdom Park on November 8 or 9 should expect large crowds, limited access to certain viewing areas, and possible route pauses for filming breaks.
