Universal Orlando Confirms: Huge Changes Announced for Early Park Admission

The sky is still a deep shade of blue when the first wave of Universal Orlando guests begin lining up — coffee in hand, wristbands flashing, determination in their eyes. They know something casual visitors don’t: those precious Early Park Admission minutes can be the difference between conquering multiple headliners or spending your morning in standby lines that never seem to move.

But as Universal Orlando prepares for November, things are about to look a little different. Guests relying on Early Park Admission — especially those eager to start their day in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter — will want to pay close attention. A new schedule and updated attraction lineup have just been confirmed, and it could completely change how you plan your mornings.

Universal’s Early Park Admission (EPA) program is a huge advantage for guests staying at Universal hotels or holding Premier and Preferred Annual Passes. The perk grants early access to select parks and attractions before official opening — a small window of time that serious fans use to maximize every minute. But with a major refurbishment on the horizon, some of those early access favorites are about to go temporarily dark.

Universal Confirms New Early Park Admission Dates and Ride Lineups

From now through October 31st, Early Park Admission into Islands of Adventure is offered daily for on-site hotel guests and Premier Passholders, with Preferred Passholders eligible on select days. During this period, early access includes:

  • Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey

  • Flight of the Hippogriff

  • Jurassic World VelociCoaster

  • Ollivanders

  • Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure

However, Universal has confirmed that November 10th through November 20th will bring a new lineup as Forbidden Journey undergoes refurbishment. Guests visiting during those dates will have early entry access to:

  • Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure

It’s a small change on paper but a big shift in guest flow — with Forbidden Journey closed, early crowds will likely redirect toward Hagrid’s and VelociCoaster, meaning your best bet is to plan accordingly.

Pro Tips: How to Master Universal’s Early Park Advantage

To get the full benefit of Early Park Admission, timing and planning are key. Here’s how to make the most of it:

  1. Arrive 45–60 minutes early — even Early Entry has its own crowd.

  2. Head to Hagrid’s first if you want to beat the massive lines later in the day.

  3. Use the Universal Orlando app for mobile ordering and real-time ride updates.

  4. Bring your park ticket and hotel room key (or pass) — you’ll need both for entry.

  5. Revisit Harry Potter attractions later once the general crowd spreads out.

These tips might sound simple, but they can easily save you more than an hour of waiting time before noon.

Why This Update Matters for Theme Park Fans

For devoted Universal fans, this isn’t just a schedule tweak — it’s a strategic shake-up. The refurbishment of Forbidden Journey will likely cause noticeable ripple effects throughout the park. Attractions like Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure and VelociCoaster could see wait times spike earlier than usual, especially during that 10-day window in November.

For many, though, Early Park Admission is about more than efficiency — it’s about atmosphere. Walking through a nearly empty park, grabbing photos before the crowds flood in, and stepping onto your favorite rides with little to no wait — it’s an experience that feels downright magical. And even with a few temporary changes, Universal’s Early Entry remains one of the best ways to unlock that magic before the rest of the world wakes up.
