Months After Guest Complaints, Permanent Change Hits Disney’s Magic Kingdom Overnight

If you’ve recently visited Disney’s Magic Kingdom, you might have noticed something new in Fantasyland. After months of guest complaints, Walt Disney World Resort has finally made a much-needed update to the park area.

In 2012, Magic Kingdom Park introduced New Fantasyland, a new park area made up of the Enchanted Forest and Storybook Circus. The Enchanted Forest includes attractions like Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Enchanted Tales with Belle, Under the Sea – Journey of the Little Mermaid, and a variety of dining options, including Be Our Guest and Gaston’s Tavern.

In the Storybook Circus area, Disney Park guests can enjoy attractions like Dumbo the Flying Elephant and The Barnstormer, while also getting a chance to meet characters like Goofy, Donald, Daisy, and Minnie at Pete’s Silly Sideshow. These character meet-and-greets have long been among the most popular at Magic Kingdom Park. Still, recently, an issue emerged: the banners outside Pete’s Silly Sideshow had become so sun-faded that they were barely visible.

Back in April, WDWNT reported on the issue, noting how guests were frustrated by the state of the attraction’s banners. It seemed that, while the character meet-and-greets remained popular, the fading banners were a glaring eyesore. After months of waiting, the park finally took action. On Monday, it was confirmed that Walt Disney World Resort had replaced the old, faded banners with bright, colorful new ones.

The new banners feature the same Disney characters in their Storybook Circus personas—The Astounding Donaldo, The Great Goofini, Madame Daisy Fortuna, and Minnie Magnifique—but this time, they are far more vivid and eye-catching. Gone are the days of barely visible designs; the updated banners now pop with color.

Pete’s Silly Sideshow is open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Guests can check the Walt Disney World Resort website or the My Disney Experience app for updated entertainment schedules.
