Guest Says Disney Cast Members ‘Shrugged’ off Concerns Over Unsafe Drinking Water at Florida Resort
Several guests found undrinkable and unsanitary tap water in their rooms at Disney’s Pop Century Resort last week. One Walt Disney World Resort guest shared their experience online, detailing how Disney cast members allegedly downplayed the issue when it was raised.
On Wednesday, a guest at Disney’s Pop Century Resort (u/Fickle-Report9826 on Reddit) reported that they encountered brown-colored water coming from the tap in their hotel room: “Hey, if you are at pop century, check your water, because im at pop century and my water is brown.”
The guest quickly brought the issue to the attention of the resort’s front desk, but they claimed that cast members’ responses were less than helpful.
“I did,” the guest wrote in response to those asking if they spoke with the front desk, adding that the cast members simply “went 🤷♂️.”
Later, the guest learned that construction workers at Disney’s Pop Century Resort had accidentally cut a waterline, which led to the water issues in several rooms.

“Update: Hot water does not work anymore, the waterline broke during renovation,” the guest said.
It is unclear whether Disney cast members repaired the waterline quickly or offered to move affected guests to other Disney Resort hotel rooms.
Walt Disney World Resort has not commented publicly on the incident. However, it occurred during a large-scale, years-long overhaul at Disney’s Pop Century Resort. The Value Resort hotel debuted its new gift shop, food court, and several repainted oversized character statues earlier this year, and construction work in the lobby is expected to wrap up later this month. Through 2026, Disney cast members are slowly upgrading rooms throughout the hotel, installing new rugs, chairs, wall art, and other fixtures.
