Mickey Mouse Presence Reduced at Disney World, Guests Notice Immediate Change

Visitors to Disney’s All-Star Music Resort at Walt Disney World Resort are in for a noticeable change during their upcoming stays. The iconic Mickey Mouse statue, which usually stands proudly behind the counter in the Maestro Mickey’s lobby gift shop, is temporarily hidden behind construction walls due to ongoing renovations. It’s unclear when — or if — the statue will return.

The renovations at Maestro Mickey’s were announced in July, and the shop has been undergoing a phased refurbishment since August. During this time, while parts of the shop remain open for business, certain areas, including the area around the Mickey Mouse statue, have been closed off for updates. The figure is currently obscured by the construction walls, but the theatrical curtains surrounding it are still visible to guests.

The refurbishment is expected to continue until mid-October 2025, with the store remaining open throughout the process, though construction may cause some disruption. Guests browsing the official Walt Disney World Resort website are warned:

“From August 4 through mid-October 2025, Maestro Mickey’s located at Disney’s All-Star Music Resort will undergo a phased refurbishment. During this time, the store will remain open. However, Guests may see and hear construction in the area until the work is complete.”

The approach to these renovations is similar to that of the BouTiki store at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, which recently underwent phased updates while parts of the store remained open. The goal of these refurbishments is to refresh the spaces while still allowing Disney Resort guests to purchase souvenirs, necessities, and other items.

While the refurbishment continues, Disney’s All-Star Music Resort guests are noticing that the familiar Mickey Mouse statue is hidden from view. The statue, typically located behind the counter in the Maestro Mickey’s gift shop, is currently tucked away behind construction barriers. It remains to be seen whether the statue will return to its previous position once the renovations are complete.

On Thursday, WDWNT reported that the floor of Maestro Mickey’s has already been updated with two tones of honey oak vinyl planks. The old carpet, featuring a geometric pattern, has been replaced with multicolored vinyl, separated by dark gray borders to create a pathway around the store.

Maestro Mickey’s at 1030 pm is a phenomenal place

If you’re visiting Walt Disney World Resort soon, be prepared to see some temporary changes at Disney’s All-Star Music Resort. While parts of Maestro Mickey’s are currently closed, Disney Resort guests can still purchase a variety of souvenirs, food, and other necessities from the shop while the renovations continue. The revamped merchandise location is expected to open in mid-October.
