McDonald’s is just months from its transition to a new location in the bustling Disney Village at Disneyland Paris Resort. After nearly 25 years of serving European Disney Park guests, the existing Golden Arches restaurant will be replaced with a new, multi-story building near Lake Disney.
Since the 1990s, McDonald’s has had a strong presence at Disneyland Paris Resort, offering a quick and familiar dining option for both European and American visitors. McDonald’s first opened in France in 1972, and the brand has become a significant part of French dining culture – it’s the fast food chain’s second-largest market in the world.
The new McDonald’s near Lake Disney will replace the existing location, which has been part of the Disney Village since 1999. It will reportedly feature “innovative architecture designed exclusively for Disneyland Paris,” marking a major upgrade to the look and feel of the now-retro restaurant.
On Monday, images of the ongoing work surfaced on social media, showing progress behind the construction walls. Three photos, shared by Disneyland Paris Resort fan @DLPReport on X (formerly Twitter), show gaps in the scaffolding, revealing freshly installed windows and architectural supports coming together. The new fast food restaurant is expected to open in 2026.

In the meantime, the original McDonald’s location continues to operate in Disney Village. However, Disneyland Paris Resort has already filed for a construction permit to demolish the existing building once the new one is ready. The European Disney park hasn’t announced an exact grand opening date for the new Golden Arches restaurant.
