Universal Orlando Shakes Things Up With 4 Explosive New Hotel Reveals

Every fall, Universal Orlando Resort turns up the excitement with Halloween Horror Nights, but this year, the surprises extend beyond haunted houses. Instead of unveiling new rides, Universal has shifted the spotlight to its hotels. The result? A series of special events that transform its resorts into must-visit destinations of their own.

Why Universal Hotels Stand Out

Staying on property already has great perks like early park entry, free transportation, and even Universal Express Unlimited at select resorts. But there’s more to it than convenience.

Each Universal hotel is designed with a distinct theme, from the island charm of Loews Royal Pacific Resort to the Italian atmosphere at Loews Portofino Bay. When you combine immersive design with high-quality dining and live entertainment, you get a hotel stay that feels like a vacation within a vacation.

Music Comes Alive at Hard Rock Hotel

Kicking things off on September 12, the Hard Rock Hotel welcomes fans for Velvet Unplugged. Matt Ballinger and Greg Raposo of Dream Street will perform an acoustic set, bringing a nostalgic vibe for guests who remember the early 2000s music scene.

The hotel lobby doubles as a stage, creating an intimate atmosphere that feels more like a private concert than a standard resort event.

Just a couple of weeks later, on September 25, Hard Rock doubles down with Pinktober Velvet Sessions featuring Sister Hazel. The group, famous for All for You, will headline this high-energy show. Beyond entertainment, the concert also supports Hard Rock’s annual breast cancer awareness campaign, giving guests a night of music with a meaningful purpose.

Portofino Bay Brings Italy to Orlando

If you prefer food and wine over concerts, Loews Portofino Bay has you covered. On October 17, Harbor Nights La Dolce Vita will transform the hotel’s harbor area into a celebration of Italian culture.

Guests can sample Italian wines, enjoy live performances, and savor gourmet dishes under the glow of twinkling lights. VIP attendees will be treated to a six-course wine dinner, making this an evening that feels straight out of Italy.

Rock Out With Sebastian Bach

Hard Rock Hotel adds a rock-and-roll twist to the spooky season as Halloween approaches. On October 30, Sebastian Bach, the former Skid Row frontman, headlines Halloween Velvet Sessions.

This adults-only event blends a festive party atmosphere with a live performance, offering a unique alternative to the jump scares happening in the parks.

Experience the Wantilan Luau

Rounding out the lineup is the Wantilan Luau at Loews Royal Pacific Resort. Though it runs year-round, this Polynesian-inspired feast balances the fall slate.

Guests can enjoy an endless buffet featuring island cuisine, while traditional dancing and live music immerse families in a cultural experience. The event is designed for all ages and has a separate kid-friendly menu.

Expanding the Universal Experience

These four additions prove Universal is committed to making its hotels true destinations. Guests can rock out at concerts, sip wine by the harbor, or dive into Polynesian traditions without setting foot inside the parks.

For fall 2025, Universal has ensured the fun continues long after the last haunted house closes its doors.
