Disney Announces Longer Refurbishment Timeline For Beach and Yacht Clubs

Disney has officially announced an extended timeline for refurbishing the Beach and Yacht Clubs, pushing the completion date to 2027. Initially, the refurbishment schedule was slated to conclude in October 2023.

However, upon further assessment, Disney has identified significant upgrades needed that go beyond the routine maintenance initially planned for both luxury resorts.

Details on Yacht Club Maintenance

The work involved at the Yacht Club includes routine exterior maintenance. However, as the refurbishment progresses, it appears that additional repairs are essential, prompting the extension. Disney has noted that the porte cochere at the Yacht Club will be closed until October 2025, potentially affecting views from various resort locations. Alternate pathways may also be in place during the construction period.

Despite the ongoing work, all services will remain operational, including valet parking, luggage assistance, and transportation. Guests can still access pools, dining facilities, and most resort amenities, although they should expect to encounter some construction noise during the daytime.

Updates on Beach Club Work

Similarly, the Beach Club has received an extension on its refurbishment timeline, now set to continue through 2027. This extension indicates the need for more involved work compared to the initial refurbishment expectations. The porte cochere at the Beach Club will also be closed until September 2025, which will impact guests’ access.

Disney has reassured patrons that efforts will be made to minimize disruptions while the refurbishment is ongoing. However, travelers should prepare for alternative routes within the resort during this time, reflecting the developing situation surrounding the Beach and Yacht Clubs’ upgrades.

Recent Pool Closures and Their Impact

Earlier this year, Disney World closed Stormalong Bay, the large pool complex shared by the Beach and Yacht Clubs, for what turned out to be a significant six-month maintenance period. This closure inconveniences guests hoping to enjoy the resort’s aquatic offerings, with the pools only reopening in June.

Given the newly announced refurbishment schedule, visitors to the Beach and Yacht Clubs should brace for ongoing construction challenges. Disney’s continuous efforts to upgrade these luxurious resorts exemplify the company’s commitment to maintaining high-quality experiences for all guests, even amidst temporary inconveniences. Visitors are encouraged to stay informed regarding the progress and any additional changes that may affect their stay.
