Disney Unlocks Mysterious New Sections of the Park (Under One Condition)
There’s a certain kind of Disney fan who doesn’t just visit the parks — they plan their biggest life moments around them. For some, that means popping the question during a fireworks show. For others, it means going one step further and actually getting married inside the park gates.
Now, Disneyland Resort is giving those guests even more to work with — though you’ll have to look closely to see what’s changed.
The updates arrive a week after Disneyland’s 70th anniversary, a milestone moment that saw Disney fans reflecting on the park’s legacy and its evolving place in the company’s global portfolio. First opened in July 1955, Disneyland remains the only theme park Walt Disney ever walked through himself — a fact that lends the California destination particular weight among lifelong fans.
Even as Disney expands its park offerings globally, there’s something about the original that continues to capture imaginations. Disneyland’s charm is part nostalgia, part intimacy. Unlike the sprawling scope of Walt Disney World in Florida, the Anaheim resort often feels like it’s designed for personal moments. That’s exactly what makes it such an appealing wedding venue.
Three New Wedding Locations Debut at Disneyland
This month, Disney quietly added three new ceremony venues to its Fairy Tale Weddings & Honeymoons program. All are located inside Disneyland Park, giving couples a chance to tie the knot in some of the park’s most atmospheric corners — including one that sits right next to the famously spooky Haunted Mansion.
The additions include Magnolia Park Gazebo, Magnolia Park Terrace, and Fantasy Faire Garden. Each comes with its own ambiance and guest limit. Magnolia Park Gazebo and Terrace can each accommodate up to 30 people, while Fantasy Faire Garden is capped at just 10 guests — making it an intimate option nestled in the shadow of Sleeping Beauty Castle.
The Magnolia Park locations offer more than just ambience. After the ceremony, couples and their guests are invited to board the Disneyland Railroad for a celebratory ride to Main Street, U.S.A., in what may be the most charming post-wedding procession Disney has ever staged.
These additions join an already robust lineup of Disney wedding venues. Across its parks, cruise line, and resorts, Disney now offers more than 100 options for weddings and vow renewals. That includes headline-grabbing choices like EPCOT’s American Adventure Rotunda, the Tree of Life at Animal Kingdom, and ceremonies aboard the Disney cruise ships.
Disney’s Wedding Portfolio Grows
Weddings at Disneyland start around $15,000 and typically occur after the park closes to day guests. That exclusivity is part of the appeal — and why Disney has been able to market these ceremonies as “fairy tale” events. They’ve even become reality TV fodder, thanks to the Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings series on Disney+, which documents elaborate nuptials across the company’s many locations.
Still, not every Disney wedding makes headlines for the right reasons. Earlier this year, Disneyland Paris found itself under scrutiny after a convicted sex offender reportedly booked a £110,000 wedding with a child bride, raising serious questions about the resort’s vetting processes.
That controversy hasn’t slowed demand. For Disney fans who grew up with the brand — and whose love stories are deeply entwined with it — a wedding at the parks is more than a novelty. It’s a full-circle moment.
With the addition of these three new venues, Disneyland continues to find ways to meet guests where their fantasies live — whether that’s under a gazebo in New Orleans Square or beside a castle that’s loomed large in childhood memories.
