Disneyland Guests Now Issued Written Citations, Crowds Face Consequences
At Disneyland Resort, surprises are always part of the magic — but this one might leave some visitors scratching their heads. To celebrate its 70th anniversary, Disneyland Park has introduced a strange new element to the festivities: written citations for guests. But before anyone gets alarmed, these aren’t the kind of tickets you might expect.
On July 17, 2025, Disneyland Resort celebrated its milestone anniversary with a day filled with new and updated attractions. While Disneyland70 celebrations had been underway since May, the official anniversary day brought additional moments of magic. “it’s a small world” debuted a final song verse written by Richard Sherman, and the brand-new “Walt Disney – A Magical Life” show, featuring an audio-animatronic Walt Disney, premiered.
As guests wandered through the park, enjoying festive entertainment offerings like the “Paint the Night” parade and the “Celebrate Happy Cavalcade,” they were also introduced to a new interactive experience. This one, however, left many guests not with just a memory, but with a ticket — a rather unusual one, at that.
Guests who own a MagicBand+ can unlock five special Disneyland70 activations around Disneyland Park. But it was just one activation near Autopia in Tomorrowland that had Disney Park guests lining up in droves, eager to receive a written “citation.”
The MagicBand+ station near Autopia, styled like a traffic light, dispenses a “speeding ticket” when guests tap their bands on the terminal. @ThemeParkIQ shared a video of their experience on X (formerly known as Twitter):

The ticket features hidden Easter eggs, such as the citation number “71755,” which refers to Disneyland Park’s opening day. The issuer is the “Tomorrowland Transit Authority,” a reference to the iconic PeopleMover ride that once operated in the park. The ticket humorously cites the “Valued Magic Key Holder” for speeding, with a whimsical warning that it could lead to a “loss of license” to drive on Autopia.
@ThemeParkIQ also shared a video of a growing queue at the Autopia MagicBand+ station. Only at the Disney parks would crowds happily wait for the chance to receive a “violation!”
