Disney Announces Lightning Lane System Updates for Test Track Launch

Latest Changes to Lightning Lane System

Disney has announced significant updates to the Lightning Lane system ahead of the highly anticipated launch of Test Track at EPCOT. As of July 22, Test Track will debut as a Tier 1 attraction within the park’s Lightning Lane framework. This notable upgrade requires guests to prioritize their selections among the top-tier rides.

Meanwhile, the popular ride Soarin’ Around the World will move down to a Tier 2 attraction, joining others such as Spaceship Earth, Journey Into Imagination, The Seas with Nemo and Friends, and Living with the Land.

Moreover, Disney has confirmed that Test Track will not have a virtual queue or single-pass option, a move designed to streamline guest experiences on one of the park’s flagship attractions.

Lightning Lane Selection Process

With the updated system, guests must navigate the selection process carefully. When making their Lightning Lane choices, visitors may select one Tier 1 attraction from a trio of thrilling options that includes Test Track, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, and Frozen Ever After.

Additionally, they can choose two attractions from the Tier 2 category. This layered approach allows visitors to maximize their time at EPCOT by strategically planning their ride experiences. Importantly, guests staying at Disney World Resort Hotels can secure their Lightning Lane selections up to seven days in advance from the start of their reservation, providing an edge in the competitive ride queue landscape.

Features of the New Test Track Experience

While the revitalized Test Track closely resembles its predecessor in structure, it will showcase several new features and experiences that promise to enhance the thrill factor. These updates will likely include advanced technology and updates to the ride’s narrative, all while retaining the aspects that fans loved about the original ride.

Additionally, the design pays homage to the World of Motion, an attraction that occupied the Test Track space on EPCOT’s opening day. This nostalgic nod enriches the overall experience for new guests and those who remember the classic ride.

Importance of Planning for Lightning Lane

Effective planning is essential for visitors eager to experience the reimagined Test Track. Experts recommend arriving early and securing a Lightning Lane pass as the first order of business upon park entry. This proactive approach will ensure access to this highly sought-after attraction before availability diminishes.
