Lightning Lane No More: Disney Guests Wait 40 Long Minutes After Spending $27 Each
Disneyland Resort’s Lightning Lane system, which promises a quicker route to some of the park’s most popular attractions, recently faced a hiccup when several guests were left waiting 40 minutes after paying $27 each for the privilege. The situation unfolded on Indiana Jones Adventure, where technical issues caused an unexpected delay well into the night.
TikTok user @ggabiiii444 shared the experience with her followers, posting a video of her group waiting for the ride to resume. “4 girls, one problematic ride at the Happiest Place on Earth,” the TikToker captioned the footage.
@ggabiiii444 4 girls, one problematic ride at the Happiest Place on Earth 🙃💀🏰🪄🐭🗿🔥🐍🌴 @MarletteMac @alexia 🌟 @Isa 💕 but we got a free lighting lane for Guardians, I think we won¿ #disneyland #disney #disneycalifornia #indianajones #girlsday #disneybesties #disneyparks #disneytiktok #disneygirl #disneyadults #themepark
The group had purchased a Lightning Lane for expedited access, but instead of quickly enjoying the adventure, they found themselves stuck for an extended period. “We paid $27 extra for this,” one of the guests said.
Disney cast members turned on the overhead attraction lights and instructed the guests to remain seated during the downtime, which some riders found ironic.
“I like how they keep telling us to sit here like we have a choice,” one of the Disney Park guests quipped. “The seatbelts are on.”
The ride broke down at around 11:50 p.m., and the guests were left waiting for at least 35 minutes until it was up and running again. While the wait wasn’t too long, it was long enough to cause some grumbling. Luckily, the group received some compensation for their inconvenience.
“We ended up getting a free Lightning Lane for [Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT!] for the absurd wait,” the TikToker wrote. “A win is a win.”
Other Disneyland Resort guests took to the comments to share their own similar experiences on Indiana Jones Adventure.
“Is this freaking Indiana jones because that happened to me around that time of night and I thought I was gonna die there,” @shylarl shared.
Another commenter, @mindylee333, wrote, “We got stuck on it this week too!!!!” and also received a complimentary Lightning Lane as compensation.
Disneyland Resort generally avoids commenting on minor attraction malfunctions, and in this case, they did not release any official statement about the breakdown. However, at the time of the article’s publication, Indiana Jones Adventure was back up and running smoothly.
