Disney “Recognizes and Embraces the LGBTQIA+ Community” Amid Political Attacks

Disneyland Resort has officially confirmed the return of its Disneyland After Dark: Pride Nite event this June.

Despite political attacks on the LGBTQIA+ community and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) policies by President Donald Trump and other Republicans, Disneyland Resort is standing firm on its commitment to an event that “recognizes and embraces the LGBTQIA+ community.” This announcement comes just weeks after The Walt Disney Company board advised shareholders not to vote for a proposal that would’ve removed Disney from the Human Rights Campaign’s Corporate Equality Index (CEI).

Even after removing some DEI pages from its website in February and ending the “Reimagine Tomorrow” campaign, which focused on diversity in storytelling, Disney encouraged shareholders to vote against a proposal to withdraw from the CEI. The proposal, which took aim at so-called “gender ideology,” claimed that Disney was doing the “political bidding” of LGBTQIA+ organizations like GLAAD and The Trevor Project. Ultimately, shareholders voted against it.

Now, Disneyland Resort is standing firm by bringing back its annual Pride celebration, Disneyland After Dark: Pride Nite. This special event will take place on June 16 and June 18, 2025, from 9:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m., with tickets also granting access to Disneyland Park from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., before it closes to regular day guests.

Disneyland After Dark: Pride Nite promises guests a memorable experience with shorter wait times for attractions, themed photo ops (complete with free Disney PhotoPass downloads!), and exclusive entertainment like the “Welcome Pride Cavalcade,” “Disneyland After Dark: Pride Nite Fireworks – WELCOME!,” and the Pride Musical Celebration.

Guests will also have the chance to take photos with classic Disney characters in Pride-themed outfits and meet rare characters that don’t typically appear at Disneyland Park. Exclusive merchandise and themed treats will be available for purchase.

Tickets for Disneyland After Dark: Pride Nite are $169 per guest (aged 3+). Magic Key holders can purchase tickets starting April 16, 2025, and the general public can buy tickets starting April 17, beginning no earlier than 9:00 a.m. Pacific Time. For more details on this and other Disneyland After Dark events, such as 90s Nite and Star Wars Nite, guests are encouraged to visit Disneyland Resort’s website.

  1. That is what IS wrong with Disney. Gay pride BS. More liberal crap. And why I sold all my interests in Disney. Let’s teach our children about homosexuals and lesbians and transgender weirdos and make it seem okay. Dusney took a wrong turn somewhere towards hell.
