Disney World Guests Gang Up on Child, Family Forced To Leave Magic Kingdom
A family’s long-anticipated Walt Disney World Resort vacation took a devastating turn when their child was physically and verbally harassed by other Magic Kingdom Park guests. The distressing encounter forced them to cut their trip short, abandoning their remaining park days.
A Dream Vacation Turns into a Nightmare
Reddit user u/drabladrub had spent weeks meticulously planning their family’s trip to Walt Disney World Resort, eagerly seeking advice on the best attractions, dining spots, and strategies for navigating Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. However, their vacation experience quickly unraveled into an upsetting ordeal.
While making their way through Magic Kingdom Park, the social media user’s 10-year-old child was suddenly shoved by a pair of young adults aggressively pushing through the crowd.
“My child was then pushed down by a pair of twenty somethings who were just shoving through,” the parent recalled.
The situation escalated further as the child tried to recover from the incident. Another group of guests reportedly stopped to mock the child, using a homophobic slur. The parent described the shocking moment: “My child just ignored them until a teenager called us ’a big and little f*g.’”
A Heartbreaking Decision to Leave Magic Kingdom Park
The unexpected harassment left the family deeply shaken, leading them to make the painful decision to leave Walt Disney World Resort altogether. They chose not to use their remaining tickets for EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, or Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park.
“We left and decided not to use our other two park days,” the parent wrote. “My child had been looking forward to this trip but is pretty soured on it now…We have a zero tolerance policy on verbal abuse. The price of a couple days’ tickets is nothing compared to self-worth.”
Walt Disney World Resort’s Policy on Guest Conduct
Walt Disney World Resort maintains strict policies prohibiting disruptive or harmful behavior by guests. Disney cast members are trained to intervene in situations where inappropriate behavior is reported, though there is no confirmation that this particular incident was escalated to park security.
Disney encourages guests who experience harassment or misconduct to seek out the nearest cast member, who can assist in resolving the situation or involve security if necessary.
