Disney Park guests expecting a picturesque backdrop for their Valentine’s Day photos were caught off guard when they discovered the wishing well partially disassembled. The roof had been removed, and the area was unexpectedly under refurbishment, sparking confusion and disappointment among visitors.

Months before the refurbishment, an incident at the wishing well made waves on social media. Instagram influencer @brightyoungleerah accidentally fell into the well while filming content for her followers. Though the original video was quickly deleted, the influencer later confirmed the incident on another platform.
Disneyland Park has not publicly linked the closure to the influencer’s fall, but the two are likely unrelated. Disney Parks fans speculate that the refurbishment is likely part of Disneyland Resort’s upcoming 70th anniversary celebrations.

Disney has not announced an official timeline for the wishing well’s restoration. With Disneyland’s 70th anniversary celebrations set to begin on May 16, 2025, some fans wonder if the refurbishment is tied to upcoming park-wide enhancements. Disneyland Resort has promised decorative enhancements to Sleeping Beauty Castle as part of the forthcoming celebration, so it’s possible the Snow White Grotto will receive a fresh new look, too.
