NEW: Disney Makes Updated Versions of Two Decades-Old Characters

Disneyland Resort has unveiled a fresh look for two of its most beloved characters, Donald and Daisy Duck, just in time for the Disneyland70 celebrations. These new versions of the iconic Disney duo will be featured exclusively at Donald’s Tales of Adventure Dinner Buffet at Storytellers Cafe at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, starting May 16, 2025.

This character dining experience is part of the special offerings planned for the Disneyland70 celebration, which officially kicks off on May 16. Alongside other updates at Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park, this dining event will transport guests into a campfire-style barbecue atmosphere, with characters like Donald and Daisy Duck, Goofy, Pluto, and Clarabelle Cow appearing during the evening. The event offers a unique way for families to enjoy a delicious meal while interacting with their favorite Disney characters.

The new outfits for Donald and Daisy Duck are part of the storytelling theme for the event. Their updated looks feature an explorer vibe, matching the adventure theme of the dinner. Scott Gustin, a theme park journalist, shared a sneak peek of their new looks on X (formerly known as Twitter):

Disneyland shared a new look at Donald Duck and Daisy Duck’s explorer outfits for Donald’s Tales of Adventure Dinner Buffet – a campfire-style barbecue buffet at Storytellers Cafe at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa.

Donald’s Tales of Adventure Dinner Buffet will offer an all-you-can-eat spread of campfire-inspired food. Guests will have the chance to savor dishes like baby back spareribs, slow-roasted prime rib with creamy horseradish, fried chicken, creamed corn, a variety of vegetables and salads, s’mores bread pudding, and more with a selection of beverages to complement the meal.

Dinner will be served daily from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., and reservations are now available on Disneyland Resort’s website. Pricing is $62 per adult (ages 10 and up) and $36 per child (ages 3 to 9). Children under three can attend for free. (Tax and gratuity are not included in the listed prices.)

Mickey’s Tales of Adventure Breakfast will continue to delight guests in the mornings at Storytellers Cafe. This means that fans will still be able to enjoy interactions with Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and other beloved characters during breakfast, even as Donald and Daisy Duck make their mark at the evening dining event.
