9 Experiences You Can Only Find At Deluxe Resorts at Walt Disney World

Walt Disney World has different categories of resorts on property.  Value, Moderate, Deluxe, and Deluxe Villas are the four main categories that guests can choose to stay at while in Walt Disney World.  Each category offers something unique and special for guests.  We will look at experiences that guests can only find at deluxe resorts on Walt Disney World property.

1. Multiple Transportation Options

One of the great advantages of a deluxe resort is the transportation.  At most of the deluxe resorts, guests can experience multiple transportation options besides buses.  Walking to a park is an option for guests at the Contemporary, Boardwalk, Beach Club and Yacht Club.  This is a feature that is only offered at these deluxe resorts.  Monorail, Skyliner, and boat rides are other alternative transportation options featured at deluxe resorts.

2. Spa

Guests staying at a deluxe resort, specifically Grand Floridian, can experience the calm and relaxing accommodations at Senses Spa.  This is a full-service spa that offers massages and body treatments for guests.  This unique experience guests can only find at Grand Floridian.

3. Orchestra

Another experience that guests can only have at a deluxe resort is that of an orchestra.  At Grand Floridian lobby, Grand Floridian Society Orchestra plays multiple times throughout the afternoon and evening.  This is a unique and special event that guests staying at the Grand Floridian or visiting the resort can enjoy.

4. Club Level Experience

When staying at a deluxe resort, guests have the opportunity to upgrade their stay to Club Level.  This is a way for guests to enhance their vacation.  When guests upgrade to Club Level, they get more amenities including a lounge specifically for those staying Club Level.  One of the big advantages of the lounge is the free food and drinks throughout the day.  Club Level is only available at Disney’s deluxe resorts.

5. Meals with a View

Deluxe resorts are the only resorts that offer firework views.  Guests can enjoy a meal at Contemporary, Polynesian, Yacht and Beach Club as well as the Boardwalk allowing them to view fireworks during their meal.

6. Themed Lounges

Throughout the deluxe resorts at Disney, guests can enjoy numerous themed lounges.  Although all resorts typically have a pool bar, Disney’s deluxe resorts offer unique lounges.  These provide guests with drinks, food and great entertainment.  Check out Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto, Territory Lounge or Tambu Lounge for specialty drinks. Lounges at the deluxe resorts go above and beyond in theming, drinks, food and atmosphere.

7. Princess Promenade

Once a day at the Grand Floridian, Cinderella and her prince meet their young guests in the lobby for a waltz that is truly magical.  This experience is something that young princes and princesses can only have at the Grand Floridian.  Typically, around 3:30pm, this promenade allows guests ages 3 to 12 to dance alongside Cinderella and her prince.  This isn’t a schedule event, but a magical one that pops up for those in the area.

8. Next Level Pools

Guests can enjoy pools at all Walt Disney World resorts.  Deluxe resorts however take the pool experience up to a new level.  From amazing theming and outstanding slides, the pools at the deluxe resorts provide a day of entertainment all on their own.  Stormalong Bay at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club is often referred to as a water park.  With a lazy river, outstanding slide, and theming like no other, guests are truly transformed to the beach while swimming.  Each deluxe resort offers a pool experience guests can’t get anywhere else.

9. Extra Activities

Deluxe resorts at Walt Disney World are known for their additional activities.  From torch lighting at the Polynesian to bike rides at Wilderness Lodge guests can find numerous unique, fun activities at Disney’s deluxe resorts. Campfire smores are provided at a few of the resorts where others offer ping-pong and other fun family games.  Staying at a deluxe resort will provide guests with numerous activities they can’t get anywhere else.

Deluxe resorts will provide guests with amazing, unique experiences they can’t find anywhere else on Disney property.

About Jennifer Retzlaff

My name is Jennifer Retzlaff and I became a lifelong Disney fan during my first trip to Walt Disney World in 6th grade. From that moment, Disney became a big part of my life. I live in Iowa with my husband and two kids who are growing up too quickly for my liking. I started introducing my love for Disney early to my family with a Disney honeymoon and then trips when our youngest of 18 months. Since then, our family has been to Walt Disney World over five times and we continue to plan and dream for the next trip. I love the magic that Disney brings to people through the theme parks, cruises, adventures and movies they create. As a teacher, I try to bring that magic into my classroom to help kids believe that “If You Can Dream It, You Can Do It.” I recently reached a dream of mine as I joined Magic Vacation Planner as a personal travel advisor. With this team, I can now help others plan magical vacations. As a passionate writer, I also have my own blog at magicalvacationsbyjen which is also where you can follow me on instagram for trip reviews along with tips and tricks for your next magical vacation.
