8 Things You’ll Love About Geyser Point Bar & Grill At Walt Disney World

I have always loved Wilderness Lodge.  It has such a great backstory and theme that it transports you to a time and place far removed from a Central Florida theme park—yet it still retains that Disney Magic.  The recent enhancements to the resort had me nervous, change is hard and I didn’t want one of my favorite resorts to lose its unique character.  I should never doubt the Imagineers and Resort Designers as the additions of the Disney Vacation Club units as well as the resort amenity additions and improvements have left the Wilderness Lodge even more amazing than before.  And one big upgrade is the addition of Geyser Point Bar & Grill.  Here are 8 things you will love about Geyser Point:

8. The Menu

Geyser Point is a quasi-quick service restaurant with a fantastic menu.  Sandwiches include crab cake, crispy chicken and smoked turkey options, and delicious salads like grilled Portobello or salmon.  But my favorite are the burgers!  Geyser Point offers a classic bacon cheeseburger made out of beef, as well as a Bison Burger that is a great continuation of the resort’s theme.  And it is pretty delicious as well with Tillamook cheddar, onion straws, garlic aioli and Marionberry Barbecue sauce.  These options are available at the walk up ordering window along with a breakfast menu.  There is also a “rustic fare” lounge menu.

7. Service

At Geyser Point there are a couple of ordering options depending on the time of year and the crowds.  You can walk up to a counter and place an order and get an order number for your table.  If you choose this option your food will be delivered to your table when it is ready.  The other option is to be seated in the lounge and order from a server food from the rustic fare menu.  You may want to check the two menus ahead of time on Disney’s website to see which one you prefer so you’ll know how to order.

6. Relaxation

Geyser Point is truly a lounge in the sense that it is a perfect spot to relax.  The casual atmosphere is complimented by super comfy lounge seating.  The open air restaurant feels cozy and comfortable echoing that Pacific Northwest feel of the entire resort.  This is a great place to gather with friends and spend some time just relaxing to take a break from the parks or to cap off a fun evening.

5. TV

If you are a big sports fan and don’t want to miss a big game, Geyser Point would be a great place to catch it.  ESPN Club on the Boardwalk is probably the most popular place for sports fans, but a lounge like Geyser Point would be my first pick for watching my favorite sports team.  Those comfortable seats, the great menu, and a much lower-key experience overall.  TVs throughout the lounge mean you won’t miss any of the action.

4. Small Plates

If you are not looking for a large meal, that lounge menu is fantastic.  And if you are visiting with friends or family and like to sample different things, Geyser Point’s rustic fare is a great option.  The menu features fried oysters, Salmon Rillette, Charcuterie, and Shrimp on a Wire among other great specialties.

3. Location

Geyser Point Bar and Grill is in a great location at the Wilderness Lodge.  If you are not staying at the Lodge you can hop over in the evening for some food or drinks, or maybe you want to come by one morning for the delicious breakfast menu.  My favorite way to enjoy Geyser Point is as a mid-day break from the Magic Kingdom.  Hop on the scenic boat ride from the park to the Lodge, and then settle in for some great food, relaxing atmosphere, maybe a drink or two, and a peaceful break from the parks.  Lunch time also doesn’t see as big of a crowd vying for the best seats as you might find at other times of day.  But, shhh! Don’t share my secret, it is just between the two of us.

2. Drinks

Geyser Point Bar and Grill is, after all, a bar.  And the lounge menu has a great selection of drinks to enjoy.  In addition to an assortment of beers, wines and mixed drinks (including seasonal specialties), they offer both an alcoholic and non-alcoholic version of a Northwest Berry Whip—yum!  Of course, all types of soft drinks and other beverages are available as well.

1. The Views

The thing I love most about the Geyser Point Bar and Grill are the wonderful views it offers of Bay Lake.  During the day the lake is tranquil and calm, adding to the relaxing nature of the location. Sunset on Bay Lake is gorgeous.  At night it can come alive with the Electrical Water Pageant.  And I always love sitting and watching the boats go by.  Aaaaahhhhh.

Have you had the chance to enjoy Geyser Point Bar & Grill at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge resort?  What is your favorite part?
