We all tend to have our favorite, go-to spots at each park for quick service dining. Sort of comfort food for us. At Magic Kingdom that spot for me is Columbia Harbor House. The menu has a nice variety so I can branch out if I’m feeling adventurous, or if I want something simple I can always find those chicken nuggets. Here are 8 things I think you’ll love about Columbia Harbor House in Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom:
8. The Bell Ringer
True to the theme of the restaurant, located in Liberty Square, you will often find a bell ringer outside summonsing you to lunch or dinner. This Cast Member serves as atmosphere, but also helps with traffic flow as Columbia Harbor House is very popular during peak dining times and lines at the ordering stations can grow quite long. But, every now and then there is a very special bell ringer outside with the most amazing singing voice who will serenade guests. If you get to witness (or be a part of this) it is a real treat.
7. Dessert
Life’s short, so eat dessert first! Columbia Harbor House offers a seasonal fruit cobbler for dessert that is so tasty and so comforting it could be worth a stop in just to get this for an afternoon snack. The cobbler is completed with a crumble topping & vanilla sauce, Yummmmm!
6. Location
While it does get busy, Columbia Harbor House is situated in a great location with doors opening into both Liberty Square and Fantasyland. It is also relatively close to the main hub, so even if you are across the park it isn’t too difficult to make your way over to Columbia Harbor House for some hearty eats. The location also makes for some great people watching if you get a seat by a window.

5. The Décor & Theme
With its location primarily in Liberty Square, Columbia Harbor House is filled with colonial American charm. The wood paneled walls are covered with artifacts and signage that reflects a colonial tavern with a New England seacoast flair. It is fun to look around at all of the nautical touches and colonial history as you find your table. Even the tables reflect the theme with their construction. And all of these touches make Columbia Harbor House feel very comfortable and home-y to me. It is a great escape from the summer heat, afternoon thunderstorms, or even the occasional cold winter evening.
4. Menu
If you are looking for great menu items at a quick service restaurant in Magic Kingdom, I think Columbia Harbor House fits the bill. Fitting the comfortable atmosphere, there are several comfort foods on the menu including both fried fish and shrimp, chicken pot pie, mac & cheese, corn on the cob, tuna sandwich, chicken nuggets, even grilled salmon. There is something for everyone on the menu here.
3. Mobile Ordering
Remember those long lines at peak meal times I mentioned? My favorite way to get around that is mobile ordering! Accessed through the My Disney Experience App you can select from the full menu and place your order as you are arriving to the restaurant. A dedicated pick-up area is clearly marked for you once you get the notification from the app that your order is ready. On my last trip we did the mobile ordering, and I watched the lines as I waited for my notification. I had my order in hand before some of the people I watched who arrived before me even got to order their food. I’m sure this will become a more popular option, but for now it is my go-to time saver at Columbia Harbor House.
2. Upstairs Seating
Shhhh! This is our little secret! There is ample seating upstairs, and some of my favorite spots are found up here. There are a ton of nooks & crannies where you can go to find a quieter place out of the crowds to enjoy your meal and a little down time. And if you can find a window seat the people watching as park guests move from Fantasyland to Liberty Square and attraction to attraction is the best from the upstairs vantage points.
1. The Lobster Roll
I know I’ve already gone over the menu items, but I saved the Lobster Roll for last. This is a really unique and very tasty item to find on a theme park quick service menu. Columbia Harbor House does a great job with their Lobster Roll, described as Chilled Lobster with a touch of Mayonnaise on a New England Style Bun, served with House-made Potato Chips. I have never been disappointed with an order of the Lobster Roll. And I love Disney’s House made chips!
Is Columbia Harbor House one of your favorites too? What do you love about it?
