Ever since it opened Be Our Guest in the Magic Kingdom has been the hottest dining ticket on property. Dinner reservations remain difficult to get even at the 180 day window, lunch lines were initially so long it became a reservation only system even though it is quick service, and breakfast was eventually added as well to accommodate all of the guests who want to enjoy dining in the Beast’s Castle, yet still some are unable to get in. There are a lot of things to love about Be Our Guest, and its popularity proves it. Here are 8 things I think you will love about it:
8. Beverage Menu
The inclusion of wine and beer on the dinner menu at Be Our Guest was much debated when it was announced. The Magic Kingdom had always been alcohol-free as a “family friendly” environment. But times change and so did the policy at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom. At Be Our Guest you can choose from a selection of wines by the glass or by the bottle, as well as featured beer selections from Belgium and France (tying in with the location and theme) at dinner only. Be Our Guest paved the way, but other Magic Kingdom restaurants now offer alcohol options at various meals.
7. Refillable Drinks
I love it when I find a quick service restaurant at Walt Disney World that has the soft drink machines to fill your own drinks. It is like a nice little bonus pixie dust. Breakfast and lunch service at Be Our Guest offers this option. While you are usually limited in the time frame you can refill, it is nice to be able to have as much as you would like to drink while dining, and then get one more refill to go as you re-enter the park for touring. This is especially convenient if you are pushing a stroller with cup holders so you don’t have to actually carry the cup around (and you have a spot to leave it during rides).
6. Dining Room Options
I love that Be Our Guest offers three distinct themes in the dining spaces, and I love even more that at Breakfast and Lunch you get to choose which area of the restaurant you dine in. This way you can experience an area you may not have tried before, and each one is special and magical in its own way. The snow falling outside and the grandeur of the ballroom make it a beautiful place to dine, while the special effects with the painting of Prince Adam/The Beast and the enchanted rose in the West Wing provide something to watch during your meal (just know that this room can be intimidating to little ones).

5. The Beast
Guests during the dinner hour only at Be Our Guest normally have the opportunity to meet the owner of the castle—the Beast. Like any character meet & greet it is subject to change, but on most occasions the Beast makes an appearance walking through the castle and retiring to the library (the area where you order for quick service) to meet and greet his guests. Much more hospitable than he was early on in the story with Belle.
4. Mobile Ordering
Now that mobile ordering has rolled out to many of the quick service locations at Walt Disney World it is becoming a little more common place, but Be Our Guest pioneered the way for this option. And still you can choose your lunch or breakfast from the menu before you even set foot in Orlando. Sometimes that is hard to decide, but for the majority of people it expedites the dining experience as you are able to bypass the order line and go straight to your table when you arrive for your dining reservation at breakfast or lunch.
3. Magical Delivery
Unlike other quick service locations, Be Our Guest features delivery of your food to your table at breakfast and lunch. Everything about the delivery is filled with magic. First, you sit at your table . . . that’s it. Through the pixie dust in your Magic Band your food knows where to find you. If you do not have a Magic Band because you are staying off site, no worries—you are given a magic rose to help your food find you. The other thing that is magical about the delivery is that it comes to you on carts with glass domes. It is so quintessentially French. And just perfect for the Beast’s castle. The only thing better was if it was pushed to your table by a singing candlestick & clock.
2. The Menu
I feel like many of Walt Disney World’s restaurants break the mold as far as stereotypical theme park food. But Be Our Guest’s menu for all three meals is a prime example. Breakfast offers a Croque Madame, Croissant Doughnut, and a Vegetable Quiche . . . a far cry from McDonald’s breakfast. At lunch my favorite is the Croque Monsieur, but I have a friend who swears by the French Onion Soup. You can also try the Tuna Niçoise Salad, Quinoa Salad, or Braised Pork (Coq Au Vin Style). Even the kids menu features grilled shrimp, meatloaf or slow cooked pork. Worried about picky eaters? There is also a carved turkey sandwich on both the adult & kids menus. When the service changes at dinner to table service the menu steps up to offer appetizers like mussels or lobster bisque; entrees like roasted lamb and ratatouille; and fantastic desserts . . . which leads me to #1
1. The Grey Stuff
It’s delicious! Don’t believe me ask the dishes! And the thousands of other people who rave about it on Facebook and Instagram. Luckily you can now taste it for yourself as it is available for order at all three meals. At Breakfast and Lunch you can enjoy the Master’s Cupcake which is a chocolate cupcake topped with Grey Stuff. And at Dinner you may order simply “The Grey Stuff” for dessert: Chocolate Shell, Cookie Crème topped with Lumiere’s special “Grey Stuff.” Please don’t regret not getting the Grey Stuff!
