7 Most Beautiful Sights at Walt Disney World Resorts

We all know that Walt Disney World Resorts are just gorgeous on principle, but there are some very special sights that can be found within and around them. Whenever I get the chance to just stop and soak in the sights, I do! This is my list of the seven most beautiful sights at Walt Disney World resorts!

7. Peacocks Frolicking at Fort Wilderness

Disney does a fantastic job at creating beauty, but they also know how to embrace it. They saw a brilliant opportunity with Fort Wilderness Resort to simply place their guests right in the existing, natural beauty. When you stay at this resort, you sleep in the forest, next to trees and dirt and the animals that call this place home. My favorite residents are the peacocks that wander the property. These gorgeous creatures live life completely on their own time. They wander in and out of the forest and trails and often act as alarm clocks for guests!

6. The Bayou at Port Orleans – Riverside

I suddenly have a craving for jambalaya. I believe that Port Orleans – Riverside is a hugely underrated Disney resort. There is so much beauty surrounding this hotel. But one of my favorite sights is of the bayou itself and the vegetation around it. The water of the bayou is so peaceful and pretty and lovely. It is only ever disturbed by the occasional duck and the giant water wheel that spins next to the resort. And off in the distance you can see the boat that takes guests from Port Orleans to Disney Springs. And everything is framed by gorgeous magnolia trees for a picture perfect sight.

5. The Savanna at Sunset at Animal Kingdom Lodge

Hi, can you say gorgeous? Animal Kingdom Lodge is unique because of how vast the landscape is. This provides for some pretty unbelievable sights. And the stunning, majestic animals sure help. I love the Savanna at sunset because the light comes down in such a way that seems to fall so gracefully over every creature. There’s a calmness to the savanna then. It’s hard to explain, but it makes everything that much more beautiful.

4. The Lake from the BoardWalk

The BoardWalk Inn can’t really do any wrong in my eyes. I love it. I love its elegance, fun, and history. But it also has some pretty amazing sights. Lining Crescent Lake are so many resorts and restaurants and shops and clubs and you name it. Because of everything that goes on, there is so much life on that lake! No matter where you are on the BoardWalk, your sights are gorgeous. I love this area at night because everything is lit up and basically sparkles. It’s a completely unique Disney atmosphere with beautiful sights to boot.

3. The Backdrops of Tea Time at the Grand Floridian

I would argue that the Grand Floridian is the most beautiful resort on Disney property, so everything inside of it has a beautiful view. But you can truly appreciate these beautiful views when you have tea in the Garden View Tea Room. The sun comes pouring through the floor to ceiling windows to remind you to glance out at the gardens. The Floridian makes sure to have the freshest and most gorgeous flowers to treat their guests. And on the other side of the restaurant are sights of the Lobby: the stunning chandelier, the detailed carpets, the shining grand piano. You just can’t go wrong.

2. Cinderella Castle from the Polynesian

For me, there’s nothing quite as wonderful as sitting out on the beach with a dole whip in hand watching the fireworks from the Polynesian. The Polynesian Resort is placed perfectly across from Cinderella Castle itself, so you can get a direct view of the show. While the fireworks are always amazing, I love just looking at the Castle from the beach. During the day it stands tall and proud and lovely, and at night it changes color to set the tone for the evening. It’s almost a comfort to know that the beautiful castle is always in sight.

1. Children Meeting Mickey for the First Time at the Contemporary

You don’t have to be a parent to understand why this is a beautiful sight. Chef Mickey in the center of the Contemporary Resort is a wonderful restaurant for many reasons, but my favorite is because of the time that characters can take with kids. And for many, that dinner is their first true encounter with Mickey. He comes over to each table and spends some time with the family. The kids usually get all jumpy and smiley and giggly and it’s just about the cutest thing ever. Their eyes fill with wonder and love and it’s all about Mickey. It’s impossible for your heart not to swell. That’s pretty beautiful to me.

What do you think are the most beautiful sights at the resorts?
