6 Things Disney Pros Do at Disney Springs

Disney Springs is a great place to spend some down time on your Walt Disney World vacation. Stop by the evening that you arrive, or make it the last place you visit before you return home. It’s also the perfect destination if you plan to spend a day away from the parks, because you’ll still be surrounded by Disney magic. Parking at Disney Springs is free, making it a popular destination for both tourists and locals. There are great shops, incredible restaurants, live entertainment, and so much more. Here are six things that Disney pros will do when they visit Disney Springs.

6. Dinner and a Movie

Want to catch the latest flick? Disney pros realize that the best way to do that is to also enjoy more than just high-fat popcorn and huge boxes of candy. At AMC Disney Springs 24 Dine-In Theatres, you can feast on flatbreads, burgers, fish and chips, or a bowl of gumbo instead. The menu is extensive, you’re sure to find the perfect meal to accompany your feature film. Beer, wine, and a full bar are available, but you might not want to overdo it if you’re watching a slasher movie.

5. An Unforgettable View

Hot air balloons can be seen many mornings high in the sky over Orlando. While that may be an exciting way to see the area, it’s extremely expensive. Disney pros know that there is a cheaper alternative that also won’t take hours out of their day. They will instead head to Disney Springs to experience Characters in Flight…Operated by Aerophile. The tethered balloon soars 400 feet into the air, giving a great view of Walt Disney World. The flight lasts about ten minutes, so it doesn’t take up too much of the day. Disney pros will also look online for discount coupons on sites such as Groupon because sometimes there are deals available. Check the forecast before you go, Characters in Flight will not operate in inclement weather, including high winds.

4. Quick Dining Deals

Disney Springs is a great place to grab a quick bite that also won’t break your vacation budget. There are two places in particular where Disney pros will head because they are fast, affordable, and delicious. Earl of Sandwich features hot sandwiches, wraps, and salads. A newer quick option is Blaze Fast-Fire’d Pizza. The lines for either restaurant may be long at traditional meal times, but they do move quickly. Still, Disney pros will usually avoid traditional meal times at either restaurant if they can.

3. La Nouba by Cirque du Soleil

La Nouba by Cirque du Soleil is a must-see show. It features 65 performers from 15 countries, and every moment will leave you wondering how they do that. Disney pros know that there is not a bad view in the house, so they won’t necessarily buy the most expensive seats available. They will search online for deals, because sometimes discounts are available. Pros also join the Cirque Club at CirqueDuSoleil.com. The club helps them to keep up to date on the latest information, including deals, specials, and discounts.

2. Signature Dining

Disney pros know that Disney Springs is a fantastic place to dine when they want to celebrate a special occasion. There are several signature restaurants in the district, and more are on the way. Whether you’re in the mood for steak, seafood, Pan-Asian, or the creations of an internationally known chef, you are sure to find something unforgettable. Of course, Disney pros know that you don’t really need a special occasion to enjoy a signature restaurant, sometimes “just because” is a good enough reason.

1. Wander

Since Downtown Disney became Disney Springs, there have been changes around every corner. There are more food options than ever, there are unique souvenirs, and in the evening there is live entertainment. Disney pros will head to Disney Springs with no real purpose, they just want to wander around and see what is going on. They know that they will find something exciting and different each visit. Disney Springs is constantly changing and improving, and Disney pros love to wander the entire district to see exactly what has changed since the last time they were there.

About PaulaK

I grew up in Western Massachusetts. When I was nine my family went to Disneyland and I was hooked. I grew up, attended New England College in Henniker, NH and eventually moved to Virginia. I worked as a disc jockey, married and became a full time mom when our daughter was born. Fast forward several years. In 2010 we moved to Central Florida and my Disney obsession grew. I now work as a freelance writer and spend my spare time in the parks. Under the name Paula Brown I penned the novels Dream Wanderers and The Coffee Cruiser. I also am a co-author of Dining at Walt Disney World: The Definitive Guide. I'm obsessed with Star Wars, so this is a good time to live in Central Florida. I've been a vegetarian for well over a decade, a choice that my daughter eventually made as well. While my husband still hasn't joined us fully he has given up most meats except for seafood. I was relieved to find that vegetarian dining is not difficult at Walt Disney World.
