5 Reasons We Love Wishes Nighttime Spectacular

Walt Disney World is home to many magical experiences, but the Wishes Nighttime Spectacular is by far my favorite. It is a tradition in my family to watch it on the first and last nights of each Disney vacation to start and end our trip on a magical note. Here are my top five reasons why I love Wishes!

5. There are so many places to watch it

Since the expansion of Fantasyland and the area in front of Cinderella’s Castle, there are more places than ever before to view Wishes. My personal favorite spot is on Main Street, where you can stake out your seat for both the parade and fireworks. Behind the castle by Prince Charming’s Regal Carousel, you can watch a Cast Member conduct Wishes every night. It’s a truly magical sight. Aside from inside the Magic Kingdom, Wishes can be seen from the Contemporary, Polynesian, and Grand Floridian resorts.

4. It is the perfect way to end a Disney day

While days in the Disney theme parks are known to be fun and exciting, they are also exhausting. There’s nothing better than popping a squat with your family and friends to watch Wishes at the end of a long day. For families with young kids, this is also a great time for little ones to wind down for the night before heading back to your resort.

3. It never gets old

Wishes has been around since 2003 when it replaced the Fantasy in the Sky fireworks show. Since then, I have seen the show too many times to count and I still manage to get goosebumps every time. The show encompasses classic Disney movies with fireworks and lights into a timeless show you won’t want to miss.

2. It happens every night

That’s right folks – every, single night. I have only witnessed the cancellation of Wishes once due to inclement weather, but otherwise, the show goes on! Every night, the lights dim in the Magic Kingdom and the sky comes alive with fireworks, music, and a flying Tinker Bell!

1.  There are extra ways to enjoy the magic

Whether you attend the Fireworks Dessert Party at Tomorrowland Terrace or purchase light-up Mickey ears that change colors with the music, there are plenty of ways to make your Wishes experience even more magical!
