Staying on property is a must-do for any Disney World vacation. There are so many benefits to staying at a Walt Disney World resort, and so many resorts to choose from. There are three tiers of resorts at Diseny, the Value, Moderate and Deluxe resorts. While they all have many of the same benefits such as a great transportation system, package delivery, and Extra Magic Hours, the Deluxe resorts are truly incredible. Here are 5 reasons why we love Disney’s Deluxe resorts.
5. The Restaurants
One of the big differences between the Deluxe resorts, the Value, and the Moderate resorts, are the dining options and locations. The Deluxe resorts have quick service dining locations, but they also have amazing table service restaurants. The Contemporary has The California Grill located on the 15th floor, which not only has incredible food, but also a magnificent view of Wishes over Cinderella Castle. The Contemporary is also home to the popular Chef Mickey’s, where guests can meet Mickey and his friends. If character dining isn’t quite your thing, there are plenty of fine dining options. Disney’s Yacht Club resort has one of the best steakhouses on property, The Yachtsman. The most elegant and refined dining experience is located at the Grand Floridian, and it is Victoria & Albert’s. They offer private dining in the most lavish setting, and a 10-course meal is available at Queen Victoria’s Room located in the restaurant.
There is a restaurant for every diner, and every palette at the Deluxe resorts. Guests will find family fun, as well as cozy romantic restaurants. Best of all, the restaurants are open to everyone, not just resort guests.
4. Proximity
One of the most appealing things about the Deluxe resorts is the proximity to the parks. The monorail resorts, such as the Grand Floridian, the Polynesian, and the Contemporary, are all extremely close to the most magical place on earth, Magic Kingdom. The Contemporary is so close that during peak times, it is faster to walk from the resort to the park than it is to wait for transportation. Animal Kingdom Lodge is not quite that close to Animal Kingdom, but it’s only a few short minutes away by bus. And there are resorts that are within walking distance to Epcot, like the Beach and Yacht Club and Disney’s BoardWalk Inn. When the parks are within view from your hotel, you can’t help but feel completely immersed in the magic.
3. The Holidays
The holidays may just be the best time to visit the resorts. The Deluxe resorts go all out in regards to decorations during November and December. Beautiful Christmas trees, some extremely large, are brought into the resorts, and of course each is decorated according to the theme of the resort. The Grand Floridian and the Contemporary each have giant gingerbread houses that fill the air with the most delicious scent. The Wilderness Lodge is known for being very cozy during Christmas. There’s nothing quite like curling up by the big fireplace surrounded by the warm glow of lights and Christmas decorations. If you love Christmas, make time to do some resort hopping during the holidays.

2. Immersive Theming
Obviously we love the incredibly immersive theming at the resorts. As you move up in the resort tiers, the theming gets more complex and detailed, and the Deluxe resorts take the theming as far as it can go. Guests will feel as if they are in a completely different world. Ambient sounds play outside at the main entrance to Animal Kingdom Lodge, whisking you away to the African savannah. The lush surroundings, and the Spirit of Aloah Dinner Show transport guests into the South Pacific. The theming doesn’t stop at the front lobby, or the restaurants, the theming of the Deluxe resorts is extended into each and every detail of the rooms, from the choice of flooring, to the tiles in the showers.
1. Options
We love that there are so many Deluxe resorts to choose from, and that they each have something unique to offer guests. The Grand Floridian is perfect for those looking for opulence and sophistication. Animal Kingdom Lodge is great for animal lovers, and the Polynesian is for those seeking a tropical paradise. Each resort has unique recreational experiences, such as resort specific tours, campfires, dinner shows, not to mention the amazing pools.
We love the Deluxe resorts because of all they have to offers guests, which equals the ultimate Disney resort experience.
