Epcot is a huge park, which is almost like two parks in one. There’s the World Showcase on one side, and Future World on the other. The diversity and size of this park makes it difficult to narrow down what the essential Epcot experiences are, but we’ve tried! Here are 10 essential experiences you must have at Epcot.
10. Voices of Liberty
The Voices of Liberty is an incredibly talented a cappella group that performs in the acoustically perfect dome in the American Adventure building. They perform patriotic songs throughout the day for about 15 minutes at a time. Grab a times guide upon your arrival at Epcot, or check the My Disney Experience app and find a show time that works for you.
9. Fiber Optic Sidewalk
Before you beeline it for the exit at the end of the night, make a point of stopping in Future World to see the fiber optic sidewalk. The pavement has lights embedded into it and they light up and swirl in all kinds of moving patterns that change color. They’re beautiful, magical and fun, and a definitely a must when at Epcot.
8. Soarin’
Soarin’ is one of the top attractions at Epcot, and is an essential experience when visiting the park. This ride is unlike any other, and it’s truly one of the most beautiful and relaxing attractions at Disney World. So either get in line early, or make your FastPass reservation because Soarin’ is not to be missed.
7. Living with the Land
Living with the Land is a Disney fan favorite, but often overlooked by first-timers. It’s a boat ride through the greenhouses of The Land pavilion, where guests can see 9-pound lemons, and innovative growing techniques. It helps guests gain an appreciation of where our food comes from, the eco-systems around the world and focuses on farming in more sustainable ways. It’s a fun, relaxing and interesting attraction that should be experienced when in Epcot.
6. Mouse Gear
Mouse Gear in Future World is a must. It is one of the biggest stores at Disney, and you will find all the Disney merchandise you could ever want here. It’s also a great escape from the Florida heat.
5. Spaceship Earth
Housed inside that giant golf ball is a ride that travels back in time through the history of communication. The attraction is narrated by Dame Judi Dench, and there are numerous Audio-Animatronics to admire as you travel up and through Spaceship Earth. Being the icon of the park, it’s essential to ride Spaceship Earth at least once. And don’t forget to get your picture taken in front of it as well!
4. Frozen Ever After
Some people really mourned the closing of Maelstrom in the Norway Pavilion, and it’s an attraction I will always miss, but that doesn’t mean that Frozen Ever After isn’t a great attraction! Even if you think you’ve had your fill of Frozen, give this ride a chance. It’s full of amazing Audio-Animatronics, beautiful scenes, and it’s not just a re-telling of the story, but instead takes guests on a lovely boat ride through Arendelle and is fun for the whole family.

3. Festivals
Epcot is the park of festivals! It can be difficult to time your visit with one of the festivals, but chances are good that the Festival of Arts, the Flower and Garden Festival, the Food & Wine Festival, or Festival of Holidays will be happening, as each run for a couple of months during the year. Each festival has something unique to offer, and they always have fun photo ops, seminars, demonstrations, and of course amazing food and beverages. The festivals bring a different atmosphere to the park, and it’s worth trying to visit during one of the festivals at least once.
2. Wandering the World Showcase
It’s easy to get lost in the details when wandering through the World Showcase, and you absolutely should when visiting Epcot. Each pavilion offers such an immersive and unique experience to guests, so take your time exploring and discovering what the World Showcase is all about. Wandering the World Showcase could involve dining, watching some entertainment, going on a ride, or just strolling along the World Showcase Lagoon.
1. Illuminations: Reflections of Earth
The way to finish off your day at Epcot is to grab a prime viewing spot around the World Showcase Lagoon for Illuminations, the night time spectacular at Epcot which features unforgettable music, and beautiful fireworks. The show is a classic Epcot experience, and should be on your list of things to do with every visit to this amazing park.
