A great way to spend time in Walt Disney World outside of the four Disney Parks is by exploring the many different Disney Resorts, each of which has its own theme that is brought to life through architecture, landscaping, details, and more. Guests can make an entire day of resort hopping and enjoying the dining, shopping, entertainment, and more offered at each location’s lobby. With so many Disney Resorts on property, it can be hard to decide which locations to head to, but these ten lobbies are the absolute best ones to enjoy while in Walt Disney World!

 

1. Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa

One of the most unforgettable and beautiful lobbies in all of Walt Disney World can be found in a gorgeous hotel located on the monorail loop near the Magic Kingdom. Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is a sweeping resort that brings Victorian elegance to life with a stunning atrium lobby featuring several levels that overlook massive chandeliers, beautiful carpeting, plush seating areas, and more. The lobby is made even more beautiful by an elevator that is encased in white details that give the look of a delicate birdcage. 2. Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

Also found on the monorail loop is Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort which is beloved by many guests for its tropical theme and amazing accommodations, dining, shopping, and more. The lobby of the Disney Resort is a beautiful two story open air atrium dubbed the Great Ceremonial House and guests can enjoy an arrangement of beautiful vegetation and flowers in the center and Cinderella Castle in the distance through the glass in the rear. 3. Disney’s Wilderness Lodge

Another stunning lobby can be found at a Deluxe Disney Resort located on the shores of Bay Lake. Disney’s Wilderness Lodge brings rustic charm and comfort to life through details, architecture, and theming that evokes the National Parks in the Northwest. The lobby of the Disney Resort is several stories high and features wooden beams, supports, and vaulted ceilings which are accented by beautifully carved totem poles, massive chandeliers with the silhouettes of animals, and cozy seating and nooks. Guests will love cozying up by the large fireplace on the main level or finding one of the quieter locations several levels up as well as walking over a live gurgling brook and looking out at the beautiful Copper Creek Springs Pool.

4. Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort

One of the Moderate Disney Resorts has recently undergone a transformation including the addition of a new tower that features a stunning lobby. Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort combines Spanish, Mexican, and Southwest American cultures in a both the original structures as well as the brand new Gran Destino Tower. The brand new building features an absolutely amazing two story lobby adorned with large modern white pillars, intricate chandeliers, bright textures and patterns, comfortable seating areas, and special touches including a mosaic of Walt Disney. 5. Disney’s Art of Animation Resort

The lobby at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort is a favorite of many guests thanks to its bold color choices and unique theme. The entire Disney Resort is a celebration of animation with different areas themed to bring favorite Disney animated films to life, and the lobby continues that celebration. When guests first walk through the doors, they are surrounded by animation sketches of favorite characters in black and white and as they progress further inside, the sketches come to life with bright colors. A wonderful detail in the lobby to also enjoy is a massive chandelier comprised of dozens of wonderful sketches where guests can check out the perfect pairing of décor and animation.

6. Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge

One lobby in Walt Disney World is so unique and beautiful that it simply has to be enjoyed. Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge celebrates the beauty and culture of Africa and the lobby is filled with unforgettable architecture and details that bring that theme to life. The lobby features sweeping ceilings with wooden beams, thatched roofing, and massive chandeliers that look like large leaves. With dark wooden accents paired perfectly with pops of color on the fabrics of seating areas, guests will find cozy places to relax as well as a massive glass wall that looks out onto the savanna filled with animals. Disney’s Contemporary Resort is a modern A-frame building that features a massive open air lobby accentuated by large walls of windows that let in tons of natural light. In addition to the unique shape, guests love the lobby at this Disney Resort as the monorail runs directly through it! Guests who explore the area can also enjoy dining at Chef Mickey’s, The Wave…of American Flavors, and Contempo Café, taking in massive murals created by Mary Blair, and shopping at Bayview Gifts and Fantasia Market.

8. Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter

A small, yet charming lobby can be found at the French Quarter side of Disney’s Port Orleans Resort. This Moderate Disney Resort celebrates the culture and atmosphere of New Orleans’ French Quarter and features a lobby comprised of a glass atrium accentuated by wrought iron details. Centered in the lobby is a beautiful fountain with palm tree-lined views down to the Sassagoula River and Doubloon Lagoon pool. Guests can also enjoy live music in Scat Cat’s Club as well as pick up some delicious beignets at Scat Cat’s Café while exploring the lobby of Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter. 9. Disney’s Boardwalk Inn

The Crescent Lake area of Walt Disney World is home to several popular Deluxe Disney Resorts as well as wonderful dining, shopping, and entertainment options. Disney’s Boardwalk Inn is located on the shores of Crescent Lake and celebrates the charm of turn-of-the-century Atlantic City through beautiful details. The lobby of the Disney Resort features coastal charm with arched white wood ceilings, crystal chandeliers, and light and airy colors. The lobby of the Disney Resort features darker wooden accents paired perfectly with nautical touches including roping, brightly colored rugs and seating areas, and a large globe that guests can interact with and check out. In addition to the beautiful interior, the lobby at Disney’s Yacht Club also offers beautiful views of Stormalong Bay and Crescent Lake out of glass walls as well as dining options including Ale & Compass, Crew’s Cup Lounge, and Yachtsman Steakhouse.
