8.) Disney’s Contemporary Resort – One Disney Resort near the Magic Kingdom is a favorite of many guests thanks to its innovative design and amazing details. Disney’s Contemporary Resort is found on the Magic Kingdom monorail line situated directly between Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake. The Disney Resort features a modern and minimalistic design that is beautifully brought to life in the main lobby which is called the Grand Concourse. The lobby itself is shaped like a massive A with either side featuring large glass windows that let in lots of natural light, but the highlight is the monorail beam which seamlessly enters through one end of the building and out the other. Guests can also check out shopping locations, popular dining like Chef Mickey’s and Contempo Café, and some cozy areas to tuck in and relax in comfortable seating. One of the highlights of the lobby at Disney’s Contemporary Resort is a towering ninety foot high mural designed by Mary Blair that celebrates the American Southwest and Grand Canyon through whimsical and charming details.
