9. Maharajah Jungle Trek – A second self-guided walking trail can be found in Disney’s Animal Kingdom in the Asia section of the park just past Kali River Rapids. Like the Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail, the Maharajah Jungle Trek is mostly outdoors, however guests who are brave enough to face the rain can enjoy the quiet trail with few other guests. The trail brings guests into the Royal Anandapur Forest which is filled with beautiful details, lush vegetation, and many animals. Guests can come face to face with gibbons, blackbuck, a komodo dragon, water buffalo, and over fifty species of birds, in addition to the beautiful Asian tigers. The tigers reside in opulent ruins from an ancient palace that was once the home of wealthy maharajahs, and guests can observe them playing in the tall grass, splashing around in a massive fountain, or dozing in a comfortable spot.
