ANOTHER Price Hike! Beverages at Disney Just Got More Expensive

There has been a whirlwind of Disney news this week… and most of it sadly includes price hikes. Now, purchasing a beverage at Walt Disney World Resort has joined the list of price hikes.

Disneyland Resort Guests arrived this week to discover Disney Genie+, the upcharge line-skipping service, was quietly increased from $20 to $25 per person per day. Not only did Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure get hit with this news, but Disney also revealed a Disneyland theme park admission price hike.

And Walt Disney World was not in the clear! Disney quietly updated the Disney Genie+ to be a “vary by date” pricing. With the sticker price of $15 per person per day removed, Disney can charge whatever they please for the line-skipping service. Disney wasted no time implementing the Genie+ price increase the next day from $15 to $20 per person.

PLUS – the price hikes continue as individual Lightning Lane attractions not included in Disney Genie+ also jumped up in pricing. Just imagine spending $90 for a family of four to experience ONE ride without a three-hour wait.

But tickets, Genie+, and Lightning Lane aren’t the only price hikes! If you’re looking to purchase a soft drink or bottled water, the price has gone up.

@bioreconstruct took to social media to share two screenshots. One was from September 19, 2022, when an assorted fountain beverage at a standard quick-service restaurant was priced at $3.99. Another screenshot shows the same assorted fountain beverage on October 11, 2022, priced at $4.29.

Note in the screenshot the “Qualifies as a Snack.” Since the COVID-19 closures, this terminology has been irrelevant with the removal of the Disney Dining Plan. Disney has promised the return of the fan-favorite plan, but there is no clear indication yet of WHEN.

In addition to the price hike of soft drinks, Guests can also expect to pay more for a bottle of water. Bottled water has gone up from $3.50 per bottle to $3.75.

Disney beverages aren’t the only price increase. As previously shared, Disney has bumped up the cost of select meals in and around the Disney Parks.

It may seem like a few cents here and there, but when all of the price increases come together, it begins to impact the Disney budget quickly.
