10. Do go to Magic Kingdom and get there at opening.
There’s no wrong park to visit on your first day at Walt Disney World. But if you’re a Disney fan who enjoys the classic pieces of Disney, Walt Disney himself, all things Mickey and an immersive sense of Disney, magic and childhood dreams, Magic Kingdom is your go-to park. And getting to Magic Kingdom to experience the official park opening on the first day of your trip means that you’ll get to experience the opening ceremony (often referred to as “rope drop”). We won’t spoil it for you here, but the opening production at Magic Kingdom is pretty spectacular. Don’t miss it—be sure to arrive inside the gates at least 20 to 30 minutes before the park opens. Check operating hours for your first day via the My Disney Experience app.
