What Would Disney Characters Bring For Thanksgiving Dinner?

Credit: Disney

It is a season to be grateful – and to eat! We always have Thanksgiving plans finalized way in advance, but have you ever wondered what the Disney characters would bring to Thanksgiving dinner? This is what I imagine:

1. Chip and Dale – Shelled Nuts

A huge part of Thanksgiving is the snacking that comes before the meal – my family calls it ‘grazing.’ It feels to me that during every holiday season there’s always a bowl of mixed shelled nuts somewhere. I’m not really sure why this is, but it always happens. These are fun because they’re truly more of a hassle than a treat, but everyone loves them anyway. Chip and Dale would be all over this. As chipmunks, they’re all about collecting nuts as a pastime. They’d be more than happy to bring a bunch for pre-dinner snacking – as long as they can taunt Pluto with them!

2. Mickey – Cheese and Crackers

It’s true – Mickey isn’t classically known for loving cheese, but I mean, come on: he’s a mouse for crying out loud! My guess is that Mickey would host this little Disney family meal, so he’d want to be super on top of things, right down to the appetizers. I imagine Mickey would create a massive cheese spread, complete with crackers, fruits, fancy meats, and a huge variety of cool cheeses. This would be the type of thing where Mickey’s friends could just grab a plate of this goodness and walk around to mingle!

3. Remy (and Collette) – Turkey

Dinner time! As a famous little chef in the bunch, it doesn’t surprise me that Mickey would ask Remy to be in charge of the turkey for their Thanksgiving meal. Remy would know just how to season and prepare the big bird. He’d be an expert on basting and positioning and timing. Of course, he’d need Collette’s assistance in a big way, seeing as he’d barely be able to pick up a Turkey leg, let alone lug an entire bird in the oven. Collette and Remy make a great team and would make a delicious turkey!

4. Goofy – Cranberry Sauce

Cranberry sauce is a Thanksgiving staple for tons and tons of people. Goofy would 100% be in charge of this dish. Why? Because there is NO way to mess this one up. God bless him. All he’d have to do is run to the grocery store and pick up a couple cans of this heavenly red goo. Gotta love the Goof.

5. Russell and Mr. Fredrickson – Rolls

Russell and Mr. Fredrickson absolutely do Thanksgiving together, and they’d totally want to be a part of this soiree. It didn’t really seem like the two unlikely friends were particularly talented in the art of cooking in the movie Up. But I think Russell would be psyched about helping at this dinner – he’d probably even get a new Cooking badge. So I imagine Russell and Carl would volunteer to bring the rolls for the meal. This would be easy, but greatly appreciated!

6. Rabbit – Carrots

Rabbit takes great pride in his garden. He’s always tending to it – making sure it’s impeccable – before Tigger comes bouncing through it that is! Rabbit would collect a huge basket of veggies from his garden to bring to Thanksgiving dinner, but he’d showcase the carrots because those are his favorite. I think Rabbit would be excited to season them really nicely and cook them to perfection for his friends.

7. Pocahontas – Corn

Although it isn’t exactly the gold John Smith was looking for, corn is a jackpot at a big family dinner! Pocahontas has a big harvest to choose from, but in the movie, corn was their main crop. Whether she chooses to just do corn on the cob, or a casserole, or plain, this would be a great side dish for Thanksgiving dinner!

8. Tiana – Green Bean Casserole

Tiana would be in charge of this simple dish, but would absolutely make it her own. So with a little Tiana flair, it’ll be delicious and unique. She’d probably get Naveen to help out with some of the prep. Is there mincing involved in green bean casserole?

9. Woody and Buzz – Mashed Potatoes

Woody and Buzz are not cooks either. In fact, if they get too close to a hot stove, they’d probably melt. But they could not pass up the opportunity to make endless mashed potato jokes to Mr. Potato Head. He begged them not to do it, as it’s a very sensitive subject for spuds. But Woody and Buzz already had the jokes forming. Besides, everyone loves mashed potatoes, except Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head.

10. Snow White – Pies

The real star of any Thanksgiving meal is not the turkey, it’s actually the pie. Pumpkin, pecan, blueberry, you name it, it’s a winner. Snow White has quite the history of expert pie-making. Of course, she’d probably have a bit of help from her woodland friends. Her bird friends would handle the crust, while she made the scrumptious filling!

11. Minnie – Cookies

I think Minnie probably goes a bit crazy when it comes to desserts during the holidays.  I can picture gingerbread houses and cakes and more galore at Christmastime. But for Thanksgiving, I think Minnie would still go all out. I’m imagining turkey and cornucopia shaped cookies, immaculately decorated with frosting and sprinkles and everything else she can find. Someone as sweet as Minnie is sure to make the sweetest treats!
