Walt Disney World’s Mission SPACE to Close for Long Refurbishment

Mission SPACE is an intense thrill ride located in Future World at Epcot in Walt Disney World.  It has been announced that the attraction will close starting on June 5th for a refurbishment of the attraction.  The ride is expected to re-open toward the end of July 2017, with no official date confirmed yet.  Both experiences within the attraction will be closed during this time.  There is a rumor that there will be new missions added, but Disney has not confirmed what exactly will be updated within the attraction.

This is the first time that the ride will completely shut down for a refurbishment due to the two different experiences.  There is a less intense version of the attraction and the more thrilling version.  Typically Disney can get by with only closing one experience during updates and maintenance so that part of the attraction can still run, but the nature of this update prevents that from being feasible.  We hope that something exciting is coming for Mission SPACE and we can’t wait to learn what it is.

We will keep you posted here as we learn more about thus update.
