Walt Disney World’s Epcot – The Myth: A Park For Adults Only?

Disney’s Epcot has a reputation for being a park that is “just for adults”.  We disagree with this statement.  We believe there are numerous rides, attractions and food experiences that are perfect for kids.  Take a look at these reasons below for why Epcot is a great place for kids.

1. Frozen Ever After

We will start right off with the most popular attraction at Epcot with Frozen Ever After.  This ride is specifically designed for those Frozen loving fans out there.  Kids will love seeing their favorite characters as they retell the story of Arendelle.  From Olaf and Sven to Anna and Elsa, kids are going to love this ride through their favorite store.

3. The Seas with Nemo and Friends

Kids of all ages are sure to love finding Nemo in his very own attraction.  The Seas with Nemo and Friends, located in The Seas Pavilion, take guests through the story of Finding Nemo.  Kids will love following their favorite fish through the seas.  Meet Crush, escape Bruce and be reunited with his dad on this easy five-minute ride.

5. Seas Pavilion

Throughout the Seas Pavilion in Epcot, kids can explore numerous different aquariums.  See sea turtles, dolphins and more throughout Disney’s large aquarium.  Kids will love watching all of the fish and sea life move around.  This is a great place to get away from the heat and crowds and allow kids to explore.

6. Coral Reef

Coral Reef is the table-service restaurant located in the Seas Pavilion.  Here guests can enjoy amazing views of the living coral reef as well as 4,000 creatures who live there.  Kids will be mesmerized by the sea life as they enjoy their food.

7. Spaceship Earth

The iconic ride in Epcot is Spaceship Earth.  Kids will enjoy going back in time to explore how we have advanced as a society.  From the burning of Rome to the backwards ride in the stars, kids enjoy this classic ride.  Don’t forget to schedule some time to explore Project of Tomorrow: Inventing the Wonders of the Future.  Kids can explore, create, build and compete in this interactive play area that brings innovation to a new level.

8. Garden Grill

Kids will enjoy this family-style restaurant located in The Land.  Kids will be able to meet some of their favorite characters such as Chip and Dale while taking in views of the Living with the Land ride below.  With tons of delicious foods to choose from, kids will find Garden Grill to be a favorite.

9. Journey into Imagination with Figment

Kids will love the famous purple dragon Figment on this Journey into Imagination.  Travel through the sensory labs at Imagination Institute with Figment.  Discover how each of our senses work in fun and unique ways.  Kids will find Figment and his help throughout the ride to be funny and entertaining.

10. Meet and Greets

Epcot is one of the best places in Walt Disney World to meet fabulous characters.  In Norway, kids can meet the beloved sisters of Elsa and Anna.  At ImageWorks, guests can meet the duo of Ralph and Vanellope.  Several characters are available at the Character Spot in Epcot.  Finally, throughout the World Showcase, guests can find numerous prince and princesses and well as beloved characters such as Mary Poppins.  Kids will absolutely love meeting all of these cherished friends throughout Epcot.

Epcot is a remarkable place for kids!  The food, attractions and rides throughout the park are excellent for kids to enjoy together with their parents.  Don’t make the mistake of skipping this park during your next Walt Disney World vacation.

About Jennifer Retzlaff

My name is Jennifer Retzlaff and I became a lifelong Disney fan during my first trip to Walt Disney World in 6th grade. From that moment, Disney became a big part of my life. I live in Iowa with my husband and two kids who are growing up too quickly for my liking. I started introducing my love for Disney early to my family with a Disney honeymoon and then trips when our youngest of 18 months. Since then, our family has been to Walt Disney World over five times and we continue to plan and dream for the next trip. I love the magic that Disney brings to people through the theme parks, cruises, adventures and movies they create. As a teacher, I try to bring that magic into my classroom to help kids believe that “If You Can Dream It, You Can Do It.” I recently reached a dream of mine as I joined Magic Vacation Planner as a personal travel advisor. With this team, I can now help others plan magical vacations. As a passionate writer, I also have my own blog at magicalvacationsbyjen which is also where you can follow me on instagram for trip reviews along with tips and tricks for your next magical vacation.
