Walt Disney World’s Blizzard Beach to be Closed on Wednesday, March 21st

Blizzard Beach water park at Walt Disney World is expected to be closed on Wednesday, March 21st, 2018 per Disney’s Blizzard Beach website.  This is suspected to be due to cooler temperatures coming to the Central Florida area.  The website also shows no hours for the water park on Thursday, March 22nd as well, so it looks like the park will be closed on both days.  The current schedule shows that the park will re-open on Friday, March 23rd with usual operating hours.  Typhoon Lagoon currently shows as being open on Wednesday, March 21st, but closed on on Thursday, March 22nd.

The water parks typically close when the temperatures are expected to be too low to be comfortable.  We have seen several different water park and resort pool closures throughout Walt Disney World over the last couple months.  It is still possible that the resort pools will also close. Many of the pools and some attractions are heated, but moving from attraction to attraction could be quite chilly.  Disney keeps guest safety in mind as well as the operational costs.  The cold weather decreases the likelihood of very many guests attempting to come to the water park, making it a huge waste of operational resources to staff the park  for low attendance.

We will try to keep you all posted on updates to the schedule.  Which water park is typically your favorite?
