Walt Disney World Announcements for Epcot Updates Coming to D23 Expo 2019

The D23 Expo 2019 is coming up in around 3 months in Anaheim, California.  Disney Parks Blog shared that there would be more information on details of transformative plans for Epcot announced while at the event.  Disney Parks Blog also shared a few teasers on some of the announcements that we can look forward to while we wait for the expo to get here.  Check it out below:

Here is a rundown of what has been announced so far:

  • The park’s core will be reimagined: There have been a few announcements already about the park’s entrance.  At D23, Disney is expected to provide more details about what is coming to the core of the park on the opposite side of Spaceship Earth.  There will be new areas flanking the iconic attraction!

  • A new (but still classic) look: There has been a play-themed pavilion announced for Epcot.  With this addition, it only makes sense that the pavilion icons may need an update!
  • More about what makes Epcot, Epcot: Epcot was one of Walt’s final projects, so that makes it an extremely special park. Imagineers will look to preserve the elements of the park that make it so special while also evolving the park to more relevant and timeless for guests.  There will be announcements at the expo about experiences that are exclusive for Epcot, like updated films, new dining experience and more.

Of course we will keep you posted as we hear anything else and when the announcements are formally made.  What announcement would you most like to hear at the D23 Expo 2019?

About Christy Caby

I am a diehard Disney fanatic! I fell in love with all things Disney from an early age and that only increased once I first visited Walt Disney World! It led me to complete a yearlong Disney College Program working at merchandise locations within Disney’s Hollywood Studios (Disney-MGM Studios at that time) and I worked for Disney Parks & Resorts Technology in Project/Program Management. Now I get to write about Disney and help others plan their magical vacations! Disney holds a special place in the hearts of my entire family as my husband proposed there, we honeymooned there, took trips while pregnant with each of my boys and have visited with them many, many times from 8 weeks old through now. One of my favorite memories from each trip is always the look on my kids’ faces the first time they see the castle. I’d love to help you plan your magical vacation!
