Top 8 Things I Would Take Home From Walt Disney World If I Could

Top 10 Disney stories

Are there things you would like to take home with you? I am not just talking about tucking an Earl of Sandwich into your cooler to eat when you get home, think bigger, much bigger…

8. Dole Whip Machine

I love Dole Whips! I am disappointed that the self-serve machine is no longer available at the Polynesian Village resort.  It would be nice if Disney could sell a pouch of mix or a machine to make it yourself at home, right? They sell Mickey Waffle makers, maybe this one will become available to us eventually.

7. A Lazy River Pool around my property.

These pools are so popular at both water parks that I know I am not the only one that would take one of these home if they could. It is so relaxing to jump on an inner tube and float down the river.  That would be a nice reward after Finals week, or just for mowing the lawn around it!

6. A Designer Bag, Disney Park Toys, Home Goods, Collector Pins, all the ones I cannot afford.

Along this same idea, the Cinderella Castle Sculpture by Arribas Brothers is currently selling for $37,500.00. I love the use of Disney characters on leather and fabric, and in the form of collector pins, toys of Disney rides and of course the stunning items at Arribas Brothers. They are just beautiful! The new Disney line from Vera Bradley and Dooney and Bourke are all attractive and so useful. The cloisonné pin designs are fun to collect and trade. There are some pins I will never trade because they represent a theme or character so well I can’t part with them. Still there are so many I like but cannot afford or are not available to everyone.

5. Favorite chef-to be your own personal cook at home.

I have every Disney published recipe book as well as recipes that pop up online and often cook a meal for my family on special nights, or when we would first tell our children that we have a reservation for our next Disney vacation.  If someone is having a bad day/week I could make them a recipe from a Disney book to cheer them up and remember better times. It would be so much better if we had a Disney chef to make and even create other delicious meals.

4. Splash Mountain, my favorite attraction.

Hey go big! This attraction is so much more than just a ride. You are introduced to the story of B’rer Rabbit and his pursuers B’rer Bear and B’rer Fox. Along the way we see several more characters, an upbeat song and message and a really thrilling drop into the Briar Patch. Wouldn’t it be fun to experience something so cheerful before heading to work?

3. Everything in The Art of Disney store to decorate my home with.

If you have never been in one of these stores that is present in each park and Downtown Disney, you really should visit one to see Disney characters from the perspective of different artists. The styles vary, but they all celebrate Disney in a unique and appealing way.  You can find paintings for your walls as well as mugs, drawing books, the Art of- books featuring art from the Disney animated movies, and many gift items.

2. A Disney Imagineer to do a makeover of my home and yard.

Imagine having artists turn your room into Rapunzel’s tower suite. What about the famous Cinderella Castle Suite bathroom in your house. You could have a true dream house with an Imagineer at the helm. Maybe you would like yours to be in a tree, like the Swiss Family Robinson Tree House?

1. The Great Feeling That I Have When I Am at Walt Disney World.

I do my best to remember the great times I have there, but it fades over time, as most great vacations do. It would be nice to have that feeling again while still at home. Most of you reading this know what I am talking about. It is what brings us back. We return hoping to have that great experience again. The Cast Members have a lot to do with bringing that magical, happy feeling we get here. Thank you Disney Cast Members, you are the BEST!

About Cassie

Cassie L. I am a lifelong Disney fan. I attended Walt Disney World in 1971, and was there during the opening week of EPCOT, and have visited the Disney Parks for than 30 times. I have had the privilege of visiting Disneyland as a child, and then again with my children. My family recently moved from the northeastern United States to the Walt Disney World area. I now have cast members in my family and enjoy hearing the magical stories at the end of a shift. I love visiting all of the parks and getting to try more Disney food and being able to share it with you to help you plan your own magical day at Disney.
